Game Crashing specifically after patch 1.0.3 (June 27th) (Addressed with Patch)

My game is crashing post update. Pre update was fine.
This loses me a lot nightmare dungeon sigils. So will stop playing again.

Basic specs:

  • 3080 gpu

  • 64gb ram

  • 10700k cpu

I’ve lowered my settings to bare minimum and selected the low FX click box. According to their charts I should be able to run on medium. Still Lag and DC constantly. Can’t teleport or it’s more than a coin flip that ill DC. When you put that in perspective, when I teleport to empty my bag or repair I DC. This makes the game just about unplayable.

Great optimization Blizz. You keep micro banning me. I filed a BBB complaint with a link to this forum. Thanks for the motivation by deleting my posts that try and bring these issues to light.

i thought about this and turned on Vsync (awful i know) and I have not had a crash yet, so something with the frames being unlimited might be causing the crashes

Constant CTD since the patch. Before the patch I had no crashes

I just lost a lvl 81 on hardcore.
i’m reinstalling the game, but reading all the replies here, prolly i’ll have no success

Yep, no crashes since release, now my game is crashing every hour or so, Blizzard is messing up really bad now, Ice Shard hitbox is still not fixed after 1 month, If Blizzard continues like this I’ll sue for a refund, like 90€ for a beta even after a month this game is stuttering on my high end rig!

Apparently the rest of us that have been watching and waiting need to chime in as well to get this looked at…

Hi there,

Same issue since the last update (June 27th 2023).
Random crash of the game (sometimes during a run in NM Dungeons, sometimes just in my storage Box, sometimes at a vendor… there seems to be no rule when it comes to crashing), then return to the desktop, sometimes with the window “describing what I was doing when I was playing” appearing, and sometimes not…

Spec :

  • Intel i7 10700K o/c
  • 32 go Crosair Dominator RAM DDR4
  • PSU Corsair RM1000X
  • RTX 3070 MSI Gaming Trio Z
  • SSD Samsung NVME 1 To + others storage.
  • Triple Screen

Playing in 1920 x 1080.

Absolutely no problm since the release, except since the last Patch…
Hope for a fix… 'cause I can’t find a solution at the moment.

EDIT : Scan & repair change nothing, DisableChromaEffects “1” change nothing too, drivers up to date, gonna try to uninstall and re install it…

EDIT 2 : after re DL and changing storage for install still crashing…

Game start crashing after patch, sometimes crash immediately when i start game, sometimes i can run NM dungeon.

PC:
RTX 2080Ti, latest drivers
I9-9900ks
32gb ram

I encourage the ones that haven’t already to try with no or lower overclock on your cpu’s, that’s what helped me and one other poster.

Just tried this with no luck

I’ll just post a reply to this thread, in hopes of Lizzard actually recognizing the problem.

It’s rediculous that we have to play bug catchers, turning on and off features in and out of the game, that doesn’t cause problems in any other titles, just to be able to play the damn game.
Just fix it, it was working less than 48 hours ago.

I tried everything too. But then again when I think about it…

I was playing fine yesterday afternoon (never a single crash on my 83 necro) so I see a patch notification in the Battle.net app so I log off and apply the patch. After that I could never play again. Crashes when trying to log with an Access violation exception. That means bad coding, trying to access an object that is not yet created in memory. It could be other reason for that exception like accessing memory sections that are system reserved or memory buffer overflow but that is usually it.

And it is 1000% blizzards fault.

Crashes continue. Tried turning dlss off. Tried vertical sync on and off. Tried reducing frame rate max to 120 from 260.

Haven’t tried lowering my CPU overclock. It’s been stable with everything @5.0 GHz on my i7-9700k for a while. These crashes DID NOT happen before yesterday’s update. Checked with hwmonitor. CPU doesn’t get hotter than 48c. Just crashing at kyovishad standing there… Yesterday when It crashed 10+ times I noticed if i managed to make it to the dungeon i would be ok with no crashes in the dungeon. Only crash was when I needed to go back to town to clean up my inventory. Can you guys just revert everything but the balance updates so I can play the damn game i paid 100$ for?

Edit: also adding that i am running an rtx 3070. In case it’s an Nvidia specific issues, but i think I saw at least one AMD person in here. If you are out there let us know…Crashes happened before and after updating the graphics driver that was just put out recently too. No overclock on the gpu

Same here I have never had any crashes or BSOD ever since playing the beta. I also have a 9700k OC@5GHz. I removed the OC and it was still crashing. Hopefully Blizzard reads these forums and fixes it soon™
