Game crashing my computer randomly?

Not sure what’s causing the issue, it has happened 4 times in a short time period and not sure what’s causing the issue…any ideas or help?

same here. I keep getting BSoD only while playing D4 while on Ked Bardu city.

Update : I seam to have found a workaround.

  • Deactivate Ray-Tracing all together.
  • Deactivate DLSS all together.

In my case, I was gaming on 4k setting custom ( Ultra + DLSS Balance and Ray-Tracing medium ). I never got any issue with my GPU ( RTX 3080 ti ) until VoH. Hope it help someone.

Driver problem or game just started overheat your rig.

probably your rig is too old, time for an upgrade i rekon. Everything fine in mine, but yet again it is a 2500+ usd beast…

I got two random blue screens immediately after the game was playable. I just left it off for a bit, and it’s fine now. Feels like there is definitely something going on with a 40GB patch. The game seems a little less optimized now than before. A 14900k with multiplier set to 54x, down from base 57x, 4090 both on water not seeing temps above 50c with a 4k display isn’t really being pushed, but the game is stuttering from time to time.

I fear that it’s with high-end pc that you will encounter this kind of issue. Like the game engine is struggling with powerfull RaptorLake CPU and powerfull GPU. U5 is on the same boat… Intel paradigm mismatch with game engine devs visions of resources allocation.

Have not gotten Blue Screens or lockups

but have seen my old buddy twice already.

I’ve overcome the UE5 failures with BIOS updates to set stock power limits, and dumping base clock multipliers down so the CPU only hits 5.4ghz all core instead of 5.7, and have been running this for a year with no issues.

I did hit “Play” before the download was at 100%, and had a blue screen, and then my next blue screen was when my download was reclaiming space. Once it came back and finished it’s been fine. I just repaired and watched my CPU usage spike to 100% for the full duration of the scan, repair download, and space reclamation process with temps steadily climbing up to 67c for the ~10 minute process.

I think this is bnet client file handling issues, almost like the pre-patch data was encrypted and it was decrypting it all on the fly as it unpacked it based on how intensive this was on CPU. (I also wonder if they used encryption, lost a key, and had to re-encrypt and upload it for the patch and that was the go-live delay based on CM post.)

Its a problem for a lot of players even higher end builds. Its been since VOH. There are suggestions in the posts.

Been happening to a lot of folks no matter how nice their PCs are, unfortunately. My brother and one of my buddies have had several hard crashes and a few BSODs, so have I at this point. I sure hope they iron things out pretty quick because it’s starting to kill my desire to play, which has been pretty high for the new season, so bit of a bummer. :weary:
