Future of D4 hangs on S 4️⃣

Let’s face it. Season 3 dint work. It has many issues:

Season questline short
Traps rendered meaningless
Seasonal zone had to be nerfed to even work
Construct is forgettable (unless u have one doing billions of damage. This too isnt right. Makes game boring. )
Another season yet another dupe.
Meteor build is bad.
Too many items on ice beast table.
Dungeons are redundant.
Duriel is a mindless zombie rotation.
Gobs are boring and bugged.
Cellars are useless. Nobody cares.
Nothing to do endgame. At least S2 had AoZ. Yah it was bad but something mostly bad is better than nothing.
Nothing to challenge builds past lv 100
Socials lacking
Class Balance is atrocious.
Itemization broken (we know S4 will address this)

I could go on and on here. S4 is going to have to save D3 like RoS did. Its that dire right now. S3 did massive damage to the hope and future of D4 after the mostly successful S2.

Who is with me? Who disagrees? Make your voice heard.

Pretty spot on. If they don’t make the loot fun I don’t see myself wasting time on the expansion to constantly farm rares looking for rare armor that offers like 20 more armor and 1.2% more resist for hitting higher item power.

A simple tweak to itemization / affixes isn’t going to cut it. Complete revamp of loot in S4 is what was promised.

S2 I think saved the game to some degree. I think S3 buried it.

It’s the expac that will salvage the game at this point or bring new life rather.

The people coming back for S4 are those who are really into D4 and the loyalists / fanbase.

It’s hard to recover the players they’ve lost without significant IP release at this point. Fixing stuff and new season flavor isn’t enough.

Anyhow, I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon, just going to ride it all out, buy the expacs, and roll with the punches.

S3 is far better than S2.
Just about the only thing I agree with is there is not much to do after farming Duriel or hitting 100 still.

Agree with aaaaaaaaaaaaall this.

With this one I don’t agree. Mine isn’t giving billions of damage but it’s helping me. Made my life a lot easier.

About season 4… meeeeeeeeeeeh, idk… don’t think it will make or break. Will be more of the same. Probably with the same amount of players or close.
Edit: Oh, now I remember that season 4 is when the new itemization is supposed to happen, right? Still, I keep my opinion.

But now… if the expansion don’t put the game in a better place, them we will have a big problem.

For guys like Ryhkker season 3 is their fave so far. After that first patch a lot of ppl starting going crazy over it.
Even I started doing traps & chests. Before I just tanked it all. Now im chock full of achievements.
I liked AoZ myself but not everyone did.

I agree in a few points, the biggest problem atm is items stats that is going to be fixed, and the duriel mindless grind.

Duriel can be fixed if they remove summon materials and put a npc uber trader, so we can exchange duplicates/unusefull uber and change it for another one.

Exemple:

  • Trade andy visage for a grandfather.
  • Trade your 2 nd doombringer for a Shako.

Removing mats would also allow us to play with friend who didnt have time to grind their mats to summon or dont want to RMT.

Im putting great hope in the PSA they made.

Finger crossed

Things like duriels farming actually shouldn’t be in the game, I like that they are there to kill.

But they should not be the sole place for uber uniques, the uber uniques table needs a buff say up to duriels drop rate and make it across the board!

Every rock, chest skeleton mob in the game should have the same drop chance.

Plus since they are restricted to 85+ as world drops it would make them interesting and exciting to find later in game.

Also gives you a chance to find stronger versions as you level.

The shards are also too small when playing, making chat too small!

Also we need a basic matching system for group play like d3 had, god only knows why this basic feature wasn’t part of the game for this day and age.

Also make legendary new items FUN! Stat bloat isn’t fun!

But if you give me a cricket bat and crowbar to wield and make shiny interesting things happen on impact and mob death this is FUN!

Sounds like you want to play Double Dragon + Diablo = Double Driablon

Lol never heard of those thankfully …I think!

Well those examples are an exaggeration but they certainly did drop the fun ball!

Old arcade game. You beat up baddies with melee weapons power ups.
You see im boomer old!

Makes me wonder if S2 was a lucky fluke and we are now back to business as usual. I’m going to give S4 a good go and keeping my hopes up.

While I wait though I’m doing S30 of D3 and it’s actually a lot of fun. The altar of rites makes levelling great fun as you can equip l70 gear at low levels.

Commando was a lot of fun too

Nope. Expansion after S :four:

I bet you Season 4 is the same… new theme. New area similar to Construct and Vampire farm.

Same NM dungeons now with Vault. Same builds but they will release some new Uniques which is the same.

Same Helltide, World Boss, Legion events… same Uber bosses and would add 1 more Uber boss.

Season 4 is not an Expansion. ROFL.

So first of all you’re confusing actual game content issues with seasonal issues. These are two separate, yet equally important, issues. Most of what you listed are actually game content issues. Of all the things you’ve listed, the only seasonal problems are the Seasonal Quest Line, Traps, Seasonal Zone, and Construct, everything else is literally a problem involving the core of the game.

I’d even argue Seasonal Quest Line and Seasonal Zone needing changes are par for the course. Traps were a big fail, there’s no doubt, and the construct for me is enjoyable to have around, but I know some people disagree.

However looking at all your other complaints for the season are complaints we’ve had since the beginning as well as problems that have cropped up as they’ve added more content into the game. We knew S3 wouldn’t be addressing these issues though. Anyone who actually listened to just about any live stream would’ve known this. Bigger changes won’t be seen until we get closer to the expansion, or when the expansion launches. That’s the reality people don’t like.

Yea this wont happen, and if you’re banking on it to happen, you’re in for a world of disappointment. I expect changes for Itemization, I don’t expect literally anything else, no additional endgame, poor attempts at balancing classes, and another gimmick for S4. Oh I also expect another dupe exploit, along with various bugs due to no PTR again.

I don’t agree with this either. The initial hatred for S3 came out well before S3 even hit, which set a bias for the vocal minority. People jumped onto this bandwagon of hate and as soon as the Season hit they immediately hated it, regardless. Now granted, I will agree the traps are probably their worst idea, but the vaults themselves are already better then S1’s separate dungeons to go farm Malignant Hearts. Again looking at it objectively, not with a hatred bias. I still don’t like the trap mechanics, and I basically ignore them all together anyway.

Admittedly the season isn’t great, but people are still playing it, wish we had numbers to confirm, but we all know Blizzard won’t give those out. No doubt we’ll get some more traffic when the gauntlet hits. Curious what new bugs those will bring to the table. I would suggest people lower their expectations for S4 though, it definitely won’t be the game changing Season everyone wants, and you’re just psyching yourselves up for disappointment.

Better than sorcs iceblades. Id probably use something like that on sorc.

In no world ever, is S3 better than S2. That’s not even an opinion, it’s an objective fact.

Since the first patch changes, I have actually been having fun with the season. Got my Minion/Bonespear Necro to 100, finished season Journey, got my pet in a decent spot with the glyphs maxed, and a couple of decent rolled 925s. He couldn’t take Uber Malphas with the minions spreading DPS too much between the boss and the pillars, but managed to clear a 91 NMV and no trouble with the 9 Duriel hits I did. Started an Arc Lash Sorc today, got her to 35 and called it a night to keep myself busy for another week or so.

This is a huge problem with the current target farming. The items are not spread well enough, with some items only having one boss (Ring of Mendeln - which Beast in Ice is a rough fight for, even at level 90 when I took it this season, etc) and some having multiple boss drops (Necro Scythes, Blood Artisans, etc).

Not to mention, no WT3 variants of Beast and Zir means you can’t even target farm a Sacred version to hold you over until you are ready to farm the Ancestral.

I did 9 on the Necro, which was what I managed by farming to complete Season Journey. This grind needs to be spread out between more content than Helltides; at least with the Malignant parts, there are multiple steps during Whisper farming to get them between the Debtors and Caches and you can transmute the parts you have more of to the parts you have less of.

But overall, we do need some other drop types in the game to keep farming for the boss mats fun and meaningful between better rolled affixes on rares and legendary powers.
