Fury Against Fate

Fury against fate is bugged. I can’t get past it. I’ve tried multiple times the following:

  • relogging
  • waiting for the dialog to end
  • running to the barricade
  • getting barbarians to come to the gate (they die on the other side)
  • completing the event outside
  • completing the event then logging then logging back in
  • abandoning the quest and doing all the above
  • changing tier and doing all the above
  • alt tabbing and streaming heavy downloads (one place said this was a fix)
  • reading and trying all posts on “possible solutions”

I don’t care at this point, but if someone can just mark this as “done” for me so I can move on it would be great.

Apparently this is a longstanding issue. Can we bump it up a little on the ol’ Jira board please?

i just posted this in another thread.

I had this same bug weeks ago and gave up. did it earlier today successfully.

I tried about 30 different things before I tried this really stupid sounding fix someone posted on a site. I’ll describe it and link the site here.

this will make your ping time skyrocket while tabbed out but will go back to normal when you focus back to game

if you have only 1 monitor set background audio to enabled

  • stand outside dungeon
  • set background fps to 1
  • enter dungeon then alt tab or click on another screen
  • wait for dungeon to fully load then click back to game screen
  • go talk to quest npc
  • immediately click off screen or alt tab forcing 1 fps again
  • click back on screen after NPC’s start shouting
  • continue quest as normal

Thank you - I’m glad it worked for you. I did try that, and unfortunately it didn’t work for me. The NPCs just won’t budge. Thank you for the suggestion.

Sided note: I’ve had problems where ping won’t go back to normal after alt-tabbing out. Generally this happens when I’m referencing a paragon point build. What I notice is that the game gets really choppy and I have to relog to restore performance. I don’t think D4 handles alt-tabbing well.
