Fun or Viability?

Do you play a character that you find fun to play? Or one that is somewhat viable?

In my case, I am currently playing pulverize druid. It is way more powerful than my more fun shred build, or even more fun, my eternal sorc.
In a way I look forward to being able to smash things to tiny pieces, but while I am playing I am annoyed by the playstyle.
I don’t have an objective reason for that. I simply have way more fun while playing on my frost sorc.
But I can’t get anywhere on it. Soooooooo…?

I want to play for fun, but the non-meta builds are so non-viable that it makes them not fun.
So basically there is no difference.

I played pulverize druid on release, once you get all your aspects, you only need to press 2 buttons, it was so OP, and boring. I tried switching over to a companion build were it was more engaging and fun, but you simply couldn’t kill anything with it. I had to go back to pulverize druid.

As someone who theory crafts builds in all types of games. That’s part of the fun.

In the end though, if it doesn’t work then it’s not fun to play. It’s that simple.

This game is easy, there’s no reason you need to play a Meta build until Uber Lilith or high tier NM dungeons.
