As everyone noticed sorc is doing far worse than other classes currently.
The burning change made sense, the lack of compensation didn’t. Lightning and fire builds aren’t doing that well either but the biggest victim of the change was cold sorc.
I’m having a blast currently with a blizzard / ice-spike build but can’t notice how worse it performs than other sorc builds, not to mention other classes.
There are multiple problems with cold builds:
1, low base dmg - blizzard, frozen orb and ice shards do close to 0 dmg, even in my build, the vast majority of the dmg comes from ice spikes - not even doubling the base dmg would help, we need more drastic changes
2, inconsistent legendary aspects
- blizz has no proper dmg support
- ice shard has no proper dmg support (and the aoe is problematic too)
- ice spikes has uneven values among aspects and every single one of them is simply
low - just compare it to barb dust devils number - double it down at least
3, underperforming uniques
- blue rose has OK affixes, but the ice spikes is tied to lucky hit instead of just cold skill
summon x ice spikes every 0.x second, not to mention its dmg is like half of the aspects - penitent greaves - I mean, what the hell is this…
- instead of leaving a trail, players should have a chilling aura similar to a random necromancer aspects which makes 2 curses into a single free aura lol… also need something like either cold skill or ice spikes dealing x% more dmg in the aura - iceheart brais - this has seen better days (S0) too… the affixes are simply bad, it needs cold dmg % or at least some dmg, it needs like 20% dmg reduction to compete with the ice armor dmg reduction aspect which is used in pretty much every sorc build
- something interesting with frost nova maybe? either give it multiple charges like an existing aspect and rework that too, or remove its cooldown, make it cost something like 25 mana, maybe add something like frost nova also fires ice spikes in every direction, this would allow a frost nova spammer build too
I’m pretty sure if all above changes would be implemented still would not reach blood wave necro level so cheers.
