Kindly help me understand how I calculate this. The node reads:
“You deal bonus damage to vulnerable enemies equal to 10%[x] of the total amount of your bonus damage with cold up to a max of 30%[x]. Current bonus: 25%[x].”
So what do I apply this 25% bonus too? Whatever is my current attack power at the time I’m striking? So basically if my attack power is 15K now and it goes up to 50K while in battle, my bonus damage could be up to 12.5K (50K* .25), right?
The reason I ask this question is I’m trying to decide whether I use Frigid Fate Legendary Node or Burning Instinct Legendary node. Under the current Maxroll BL Build, we deviate on the happy bath to get Frigid Fate, but I’m wondering if the better choice is to use Burning Instinct.
why do you even look at the attack power? you use skills, skills have damage on them
Yah, even looking at skill power doesnt tell the whole story as it doesnt include the weapon damage, weapons speed, and other bonuses. Refer to link below for damage calculation.
I believe you’re generally asserting that skill damage (irrespective of whether it is cold, fire, lightning) * weapon damage * 25% bonus would be the over and above damage of this legendary node.

Your base skill damage is first multiplied by the sum total of all the many additive bonuses you have (numbers with a + next to them). Then that number is multiplied by a value based on your core stat (Intelligence for us). Then if you score a critical hit, critical damage bonuses are added to the first bucket and then everything is multiplied by 1.5. Vulnerable then does the same but multiplying by 1.2. Then after all that, each individual global multiplier you have (generally from passive skills, aspects, uniques, legendary paragon nodes and glyphs) is multiplied into the total. Global multipliers have an [x] next to their value instead of a + and are vastly more powerful than additive damage bonuses. The paragon node you’re asking about provides a global multiplier, so yes, it multiplies your total damage by 1.25 at its present value.
In general, there are so many contributing factors to your damage (a large chunk of which are conditional) that trying to calculate an actual number is a waste of time, just like the “Attack Power” you see on your stat sheet is basically meaningless; it bears very little relation to what your damage output will actually be. Go blast the training dummy for a while if you want to test things out. Or just test in NMDs under actual combat conditions.
This seems to be wrong for frigid fate node specifically. Its worded as if you would get a 30% bonus total dmg to vunerable enemies, but it seems its actually just a 30% increase to your additive vunerable dmg bonuses that youve accumulated. Which is basically crap.
