Friends wont touch D4, Labeled as cash shop centered and "not fun"

friends wont play this game, they got it in on sale and only played halve a season, realized the grind/joy/power fantasy wasn’t there, then left game and never played again. these are friends who i met and played D1-2-3 with, and friends for over 10+ years… D4 just doesnt float there boat, with the black friday sale (me being a Diablo fan and wanted to reignite there passion for the IP bought them the expansion)…. i got them all the expansion for a gift… none of them have even re-installed the game. they say its just a money grab. the soul of the game is gone, the diablo-ness is missing…. what can i do to bring them back to the game they played with me for HUNDREDS of hours together on ???

Absolutely nothing. You can’t force people to play a game they don’t enjoy. You’ll just make them dislike the game even more. The only thing you can do is show them the changes that have been made to the game, if they’re even interested, and let them decide if they want to come back or not.

It’s very hard to change some one’s mind over something they feel strongly about though. If the game looks like it hasn’t changed on that front to them, I highly doubt they’ll want to come back.

nothing. Sometimes a game just doesnt give it to you. So if anything, i guess you can join them on whatever they are playing.

I have never spent a penny on the shop even with the ability to purchase everything at once without batting an eye.

but what we are playing is the same Genre, but different a developer… still ARPG’ fans through and through… POE 1+2, last epoch, d2 3rd party version, titan quest and every other ARPG, even D3 here and there… D4 is just a bust….

This is why I’ve said whatever devs do next should make the game feel finished (rather than seek to appease audience)

Make the game finished/authentic and it will find its audience, don’t do that and leave things to “back-and-forth and speculation” and it will fall

D4 has suffered from “incompatible” feedback (A LOT)

People for a long time didn’t even accept the game itself and wanted to turn it into the favorite game they’ve known (for some it was D3, for some others something else)

Be as it may D4’s closest “relative” is TQ/2 (or a bit more distant in GD and D1 if you like). That’s because the game’s designed for exploration rather than repetition (I’m not saying that’s what the game is NOW, I’m saying what the game was 100% mostly designed for back at launch)

So, here’s the problem “make game fun for my friends” is the exact type of feedback that has exactly hindered D4 the most

People wanted to make the game faster/more-efficient, less-inconvenient, e.t.c., and ended up with almost completely destroying it (twice ?) by now

Just better say what you don’t like in the game’s current iteration (don’t like in current iteration, not “my favorite game does X so D4 should have X also”)

That’s because LE, PoE, D2, D3 & similar, are simply not quite compatible to D4

Does anyone play the game this late in a season? Seasons are just too long. Wait for the beginning of season 11, lets see how that goes.

So keep playing the game you enjoy, and let your friends play the games they want to enjoy. Nothing wrong with that.

Play D3 instead. Its a much more player friendly experience. Its got less bugs. Its got a rotation of crazy seasons. D4 is a mess right now. Wait for a couple seasons to have them flesh it out. We basically just went back to S0 so its back to square one. S11 is a sort of relaunch of the game and its not going to go well.

a game designed to cash in is designed in a certain way so even people who do not spend money on mtx are affected by the mtx.

A cash is not only used to describe a game that has mtx but say that a game is bad cause it was just made to cash in and not amde to be an actual good game.

Be thankful you have wise friends. There’s nothing “to do” for them…besides complement them.

This game is not Pay to Win, it has just become lame.

Every Season is some over powered Meta builds, the Season 10 Chaos armor was certainly the most versatile season.

Bliz Devs are fixing the unintended consequence of true diversity by gutting all existing gear with the Level 540 Hammer. This was seen in the PTR and has not been formally announced, but most Gamers want to hold on to items after a season and enjoy what was found.

You answered your own questions, if they are still somewhere else, enjoy their company there. Season 11 is a declaration, People that want an enduring Eternal style play option need to go elsewhere.

Get better friends then.

I’ll give blizz credit where it’s due. Character looks/customization in D4 surpass most other ARPGs i’ve played

Without even opening the shop you can customize so much of your character (hair, skin color, tattoos, outfits, dyes, hide/show slots, etc…)

In some others, good luck with any of that. You’re usually locked to one look. Worst case scenario(poe) you pay $$ just to transmog ONE item into another (as a consumable)

Why don’t you play games they want to play? It works both ways
