Please Blizzard, add an option on character creation to have fresh start. No altars, no maps, no renown, nothing. Play like it’s your first character ever, when you loaded the game for the first time.
Could even work on season restart. Some people enjoy rediscovering the map for immersion and sense of a real and full character reset.
It would be an option so people that don’t want it can just ignore it. Doing the altars and discovering the maps once for all my characters for all the years to come feels bad

Well except we get to keep altars of lilith bonuses and map discovery on season reset.
Its not a full reset

What’s stopping you from treating it like a fresh start and doing the renown from scratch? Are you mad that the rewards are account-wide?
Making a suggestion does not mean I’m mad.
Starting with multiples stats bonuses, skill points and potion charges from the start does not feel like a fresh start

I’d like this too. I love the feeling of a clean slate for each character. I obviously see the benefits of all the account wide stuff, but it would be nice for an option.

Ya’ll have the weirdest freaking requests on this board. I just want ya’ll to know that. So your complaint is I don’t want seasons cause it doesn’t reset my Lilith, renown, and account rewards too. Just so weird man. At this point, Diablo can’t do nothing right, huh?
while i have no inclination to do altars or wps twice, i think some people would like to not have the map explored and just start from absolute 0, and thats ok, its not really impactful on anything other than their game play, they should definitely have an option for it.

is there an update on this? I was just starting my first playthrough until I got the Welcome Boost quest and accepted it. Now all Altars of Lilith are unlocked and parts of the World Map are already revealed.
I wish I could start over on a completely blank slate

Very little that isn’t aesthetic. Not for about a year or two after someone’s thought of it.
The OP’s request is something like an added checkbox that allows you to ‘wipe’ all account-wide progress when creating a new character.
It’s not very complicated, it just requires someone on the team to have thought of it, and Rod to have approved the implementation.
Btw, I’d never use it (renown/altars too boring) but it’s one of 100 little things that cost almost nothing to implement, but which would show… what’s that word… passion. Yes, and dedication.
Even if there are passionate, dedicated nerds on staff who’ve been asking to implement 100 little QoL things that would delight ppl like OP… there’s a wet blanket who controls their salaries & he’s having none of it. That’s my guess.

Nope, no update on this. Hasn’t even been mentioned by the developers since launching the base game. Sadly the only way to completely start over fresh would be to make a brand new Bnet account and get another copy of the game.
In terms of people wanting this feature there’s just too few asking for it, so it’s not even a blip on Blizzards radar.

Perhaps the new UX/UI hire will find a way to sneak in that checkbox when Rod is away. 
I would like this too. All from the very beginning, even getting a horse from Donan.
Recently I went through the whole story with the expansion again, I visited all the dungeons, got all the renowns, completed all the areas 100%. It was cool, but still not the same without the altars and Tenets of Akarat.
I like the idea that we can just jump into a new season with the map, altars, mount unlocked, hordes and so on, but it would be nice to just have the option to start like with a new account.
