I’m new to Diablo 4 — started playing just a few weeks ago. Since the latest patch the crashes are constant, every few minutes. This is hands down the most unstable game I’ve ever played. I played Diablo 1, 2, and 3 and never saw anything like this.
Tech support are no help. They gaslight you with “update your drivers” (as if that didn’t occur to me), or “the game can cause overheating” (seriously, did they even read my specs?).
I’m running a Chillblast system: Intel i7-14700K, RTX 4080 (16GB), 64GB DDR5, Samsung NVMe SSD, Windows 11 Pro — rock solid in every other game! Only D4 crashes, and it got far worse after the last patch.
“What causes crashes?” Pretty much anything:
- Artificer Pits
- Dungeons
- Walking around
- Standing in town looking at my stash
It will crash within minutes after a cold boot. When it crashes I can’t even hear my PC fans-this isn’t about system strain.
I’ve seen other posts mentioning issues on AMD hardware, but it’s bad on Intel + NVIDIA as well. Clearly this isn’t isolated to one platform.
Is it always this bad?
Can I expect this game to improve?
