📓 Frames Drop when Maxroll open in Chrome

Just a PSA:

If you’re running D4 while Maxroll.gg is open in Chrome (haven’t tried to reproduce in other browsers) my frames drop to zero. Closing Chrome entirely or rebooting solves this.

Hope that helps some of you out there.

Not a problem with Firefox…

All fine.

Never use Chrome.

Yeah, I should probably have all my google chrome tabs closed anyway while playing this game.

LOL this game seems like it takes 90% of my P.C.'s capabilities.

What music program you used? Was it Pandora??

I unsubscribed from Pandora and went to You Tube Music .

But yeah hearing your fav music while playing the game does seem to give you more of a BOOST in playing performance, that and keeping you Awake. LOL

Well, i can put a video playing in my PC, have Firefox open in here, and play D4 without a single glitch…

All in a Desktop PC 12 years old…

No issue here using Chrome, Pandora in Chrome, or Maxroll in Chrome while playing D4. Probably not your issue but remember if using a multi monitor setup with different refresh rates while gaming to set each monitor to a multiple of one another, for example 60/120/240. Windows does not handle multiple refresh rates well during gaming or media playing if they are not multiples of one another.

Chrome’s a lame way to adhere to the default. There are a couple decent Chromium browsers which will even let you use your Chrome extensions if you’re habituated to any. Brave + Vivaldi. The latter is probably the most customizable, pro-user, non-evil browser on the market. And it has a Hibernate function (if you have 100s of tabs open like I do at all times… 350ish at the moment) which frees up resources effectively. Just a PSA. Drop the habit.

using Opera GX here, most of the time i got like 32342341 Tabs open ^^

That’s what you get for using that trash site populated by scumbags.

For context, Vivaldi was founded by former Opera developers who resented the anti-consumer turn Opera took several years ago, when it stopped being the ‘geek’s browser’ and became a security-compromised commercial sellout (supposedly).

The features ‘pioneered’ by old-school Opera (such as intuitive mouse gestures) migrated to Vivaldi, and 100s of innovations since.

Yeah, not sure what the deal is with that site but it just sucks more and more memory the longer you leave it open. Edge is the same but then it’s using chromium so not too surprising.

That said I can play with it open it just adds to my CPU load which can push it up to annoying fan noise stage.

Close maxroll and play the game with no help. Problem solved.

What’s maxroll??

Nvm I don’t actually care

Watching a Youtube video on your second screen can lead to freezes or slow motion in your game. On any Browser you may use.

I got rid of Chrome years ago and 95% of all other Google products/services I used in the past. I won’t give that company a single cent if at all possible (ad revenue or otherwise).

chrome hogs your RAM…
diablo 4 ALSO hogs your RAM :joy:

ANY PROGRAM hogs your RAM…
Ones more than another…
But they all hog RAM… and it’s never enough…

chrome is known to eat it… so yeah running chrome in the background is asking for lag.

OP answered his own question in the title.
