Frame generation added in latest update to Diablo IV does not work at all.
Enabling it even decreases overal fps by one or two frames, so it pretty much even goes against what it is supposed to provide.
playing on I9 1390KF, RTX 4090, 32GB DDR5 RAM and SSD combo in 5120x1440 resolution with settings maxed out, ray tracing on max too and DLSS set on quality.
It is playable but it could use the few frames on top with the frame generation for smoother experience.
Also weirdly enough the game does not let me choose exclusive fullscreen. Only windowed (borderless) and windowed are available. But that is present since it came out.
There’s no reason for exclusive fullscreen in d3d12. There were issues with older D3D implementations that got ironed out in 12, so the only real benefit to exclusive over borderless anymore is being able to set a per-game resolution. Most games don’t implement it, though there are a few outliers like Sniper Elite 5.
Can’t help with the rest, though.
I see the unability to change resolution to anything other than native in borderless fullscreen as a general issue (since resolution change is it’s greyed out in it). But still more pressing issue right now is the implementation of buged out frame generation.
This may be something unique to your system, or something that only happens in some cases. I made a video just now (here) and I got a 40fps increase by turning on framegen.
I’ve the same problem, with an RTX 4070Ti Strix OC + 13600K (OC @6x5,6Ghz+8x4,3Ghz) + 32Go DDR5 6800Mt/s C32 (@7400 C34) installed on a NVMe 980 Pro 1To (OS : Windows 11 Pro)
I play this game at 3440x1440 ≈100fps with every parameters in Ultra + Ray Tracing ultra.
Opposit to Frame Generation + reflex or reflex activated, whose give me between 15 and 25fps less
And I’ve sometimes crash during phase of gameplay
Excuse for m’y level of english, I’m a french guy
Edit : I have test exactly the same configuration with an 12400f (at the place of my 13600k), and I have the same issue
