Fortify sometimes ebbs off immediately, sometimes not (!?)

I noticed when my Fortify maxes out equal to my full hit points, it sometimes starts going down in value almost immediately. But I have also seen it just stay at max level equal to my full health without decreasing.

Can anyone enlighten me this behavior?

What class are you on?

When fortified, your fortify level is higher than your life, any shot you take will have 10% damage reduction to both your fortify level and life (not counting affixes or gems). So if you take 100 damage it will be -90 from both life and fortify below the fortify line. Any life above the fortify line will take normal damage.

Out of combat after 5 seconds it will drop. I think in combat you get 5 more seconds. ← don’t quote me on this last line I have not counted it but I remember looking this up a while back.

I play Blood Necro so every blood skill has a 30% chance to restart increasing the fortify level for me, and Hemorrhage which I pretty much constantly hold down is also building my fortify almost always.

I play Curse Necro. In combat, my Fortify is always equal to my hit points because it keeps getting replenished.

I should’ve looked at my Fortify longer than 5 seconds after combat; I might’ve looked at it only about 4 seconds. I’ll pay closer attention next time.

Well I just ran a NM dungeon
and I pretty much had both at full the whole time minus some big hits.
But at the end I decided to wait to see if it dropped after 5+5 and it did not, not sure if it was because the dungeon was finished…but it wasn’t until I tp’d back to town that it started to drop.

If it’s a bug… don’t say anything :rofl:. I literally had both at full almost the entire dungeon, this is not the norm for me. And you know you can like attack objects to stay “in combat” right?

But the way it should work is 5 seconds of being out of combat and it should start to drop.

Gonna run another, I will let you know if the stickiness continues.

The Fortified status should have a 2~3 seconds timer whenever we have higher fortify than health so it won’t drop during that time.

Currently it just drops too easily and having more healing sources makes it even harder to maintain is really counterintuitive.

For example the druid’s Skinwalker’s Aspect only grants fortify when the character is at full health, so everytime we take damage the aspect would heal that results in higher health than fortify and losing Fortified status.

In combat it’s constant take damage → heal & losing Fortified → Fortified cycle that gets super annoying because we constantly lose damage reduction from Fortified and there’s the “Fortified Fortified Fortified” combat text.

Fortified is basically pointless at 100. Its outshined in agnostic damage reduction and dodge chance (in pvp).

Poison being currently broken, makes it useless. Even Immune phases are consistently not proc’ing properly with the servers / architecture being trash.

Current pvp meta is proc 1-hit poison shots, as they ignore a lot of immune phases natively and non-natively in lag.

The 2nd dungeon it came down as expected. (I sped it up by 33% if you are counting seconds)

But if you just watch the sphere it comes down when I am not in combat.

yeah, it’s bugged. It sometimes decreases out of combat, sometimes not.
