Forget my Altars

I have a unique problem - I’ve owned Diablo 4 since launch - but I never found all of the Altars of Lilith (I never looked up Altar locations, because it is a fun reward running across them in the wild). I started a new seasonal character, and saw that I had maybe half or 1/3 of the Altars found in each location. I switched over to a character on the Eternal Realm - to complete the expansion - and noticed that all the altars were marked as found (though I know for a fact I never found them all - i assume this was due to a bug). After switching back to my seasonal character - all altars were now marked as found on him too. I deleted both characters in attempt to reset my Altar of Lilith finds, but that didn’t work.
Is there any way to reset my Altar of Lilith finds?

nope. there isnt. You probably used the welcome back boost, which unlocks all lilith altars.

Yep, I did use the welcome back boost - I didn’t really know what it did.
That sucks, the Altar of Lilith hunt is what kept bringing me back to the game. I hope Blizzard allows us to reset our Altar finds in the future.

I think that most people hated the hunt, especially since these are tied to stats boost. I found like half of them roaming, and had to look up a map for the rest. I did it maybe twice (maybe at release when it wasn’t account wide), and it wasn’t something I enjoyed.

However, I agree with you : They should have left the choice to unlock them or not. Make people click a checkbox or something to make sure that they understand that once you click on that button, it unlocks it account wide and forever.

They did. The boost screen clearly states it “discovers” all of the Altars. It does it in no uncertain terms. Numerous articles also pointed it out. Altars unlocking for the whole account have also been made clear for a long time by now. In fact that is true even without the boost. That fact was made obvious when they changed in in Season 1 to be that way.

The problem isn’t Blizzard’s here, for a change. As the person you’re responding to said they didn’t know what the boost did. Yet Blizzard did make it clear. If someone isn’t going to pay attention to what is presented, that is entirely on them, at some point people need to own up to their own actions.

You should expect people to not read stuff in a video game as well as never read an article about video games ever… nowhere else have I seen an option that is account wide and forever.
It was just bad design, the boost was glowing constantly and some of us clicked on it for the other benefits but not for the Altars one.

I liked it the 1st time.
Thought it was a chore the 2nd.
And the 3rd I said “it’s not worth it”

I’m so glad it was made account-wide and carried over to each new Season.
