Does it scale well to Torment 4?
Honestly I didnt pay attention to the damage but more of what it did. Pulling enemies into 1 area is what makes it good no matter what difficultly your playing.
I mean there are aspects and a lvl 2 witch orb that does that, pulling enemies into an area.
I was asking because I made a Sorc alt yesterday. And using Piranhado while leveling and in Torment 1 already. And it was good in those.
I used the Doom Orb on my main. When I look at the others they all have multiplers either via other witch powers or orbs…where this one is just a flat damage number…unless I missed something.
Doom orb I found better with the sorc. Not all builds will use parnaido.
I liked parnaido on my barb and necro.
And it was still as effective in Torment 4?
I found it to be but at the same time I was fairly well geared so everything was a one shot outside of high level pits.
I didnt really like the earthquake barb because of all the VFX vomit on the screen.
I had no plans to even run this alt, but I wanted to see how bad sorc was given all these threads about them being so subpar. Good thing is it took like a day to get to 60 and the paragon is instant so just leveling glyphs and MWing now.
Yes
Yes. It’s great mowing down trash mobs in T4. I just follow behind the Piranhado and pick up the loot it leaves behind in its wake.
Piranhado also helps to kill Andariel as it can destroy one of the totems on its own then will finish off Andariel for you at the end. Piranhado has made solo farming Andariel easy for the first time ever.
I tried using the Cycle because a lot of the top players were using it but I struggled to complete a Pit 140. Switched back to Piranhado and completed a Pit 140 with time to spare.
I think it depends on your perspective and what you consider a success. My current fireball sorc can barely do pit 100 (without me getting bored) but I can clear the witch-hunts, helltides, hordes, and tormented bosses quite easily and quickly in T4. I have had a lot of fun throwing bouncing balls of fire to wipe out screens of stuff. Dropped frost shield for Meteor for a bit and that was entertaining too. Even bigger flaming balls of death!
While you can stand still and 1 shot everything in pre-torment difficulties with seasonal mechanics only, The damage of all season powers doesn’t scale well and is negligible.
The most useful powers are ones that vacuum up enemies into close range, or ones that add % of damage to your non-seasonal skills. The bats and frogs and similar powers are noob baubles to distract the uninformed and give an illusion that the seasonal powers are ‘helping.’
I had a build that scaled mostly off of them by taking as many generic damage bonuses as I could. You’re not pushing Pits that way, but it’s capable of T4 if you choose to mostly build around the damage powers.
I didn’t find it that helpful in T4 and pretty much quit using it. I think it’s supposed to scale off player power so maybe with a meta build it’s more useful.
I have no idea, this is part of the problem with the whole ‘borrowed power’ concept. Honestly, I’m a little surprised and disappointed that we’re back to this, when I thought we had moved away from it.
I mean, it’s a bit of fun, and that’s cool and all, but I’m not sure that the positives outweigh the negatives.
Seasons 4-6 were merely a side mission to fix the game.
The entire goal of this first phase of the game was to get the expansion out. So anything they had to do to make the game ready for the expansion took priority. S8 is our first opportunity to see what direction they choose to take us in this next phase.
Yeaaaah I know you’re right for the most part, but it’s still disappointing.
That period was more enjoyable specifically because they focused on improving fundamental problems with the base game systems etc, rather than faffing about with temporary content which, even if it is fun for a while, is ultimately disappointing when most of it will inevitably be removed shortly after.
But I get it, average joe wants new shiny instead of solidifying the base.
Whatever they do it needs to work. They cant continue to be defeated by trying to fix 1 ring.
This season was an epic failure in buggy seasonal content yet again. It was so bad it was killing players in hardcore with their own powers.
Yeah I have had some weird random deaths…as far as gameplay bugs I have not seen too many, you know the incorrect messages sure. There was a point where the game told me I had more armor than I did, until I was in the fight…that one was a bit funny.
As far as balance and exploit stuff I just ignored Youtube entirely this season when it came to Diablo4. So not even aware of most of it.
But no crashing this season so less bugs on the technical side for sure, for me I mean.
All of my characters move faster than the piranhado so I decided to scrap it in favour of the cycle. There are better ways to pull enemies on Necro and Druid on demand which can be controlled better by the player. Also the witch jewel seems to do a better job because the cooldown in much shorter.
You could also opt for the legendary aspect that pulls or the rune word which invokes the spiritborn vortex which was my preferred option in past seasons.
