For the love of melee, please blizzard, give us "Holding right click skill walk&autoattack"

Diablo 2 had it

the weirdest thing is that Some skills in D4 have it… some don’t

It’s a game changer for melee as it help with targeting and prevent a massive amount of clicking

Eli5: when you have a melee skill on right click, If you hold right click without targeting a monster it will attack the nearest monster in that direction, if no monster, it will make you walk as long as you hold that right click. Encountering monsters with that right click held down makes you attack them

this mechanic saves so many many clicks! its a must if blizzard care the very least about players health, it could save a lot of carpal tunnel issues

Here is how it worked in D2:

The strangest thing in D4 is that frenzy works like that

Maul works like that

But skills like claw doesn’t

Bash doesn’t work like that

None of the necro melee skills seem to work like that

havent tried rogue but pretty sure at least one of its skill works like that too

I would really like to have sorc arc lash to work like that as well, making a melee flavoured sorc

How those skill behave instead is “always attack in place” like if you always hold shift while right clicking to use that skill

Im not asking to change the behaviour of the skills to this for everybody, just to at the very least give us the option to:

  • “next encounter”

or

  • “always attack in place”

I 10000 % support this. No reason not to have it in game. It’s one of the things I loved about d2, hold it down while you rip through enemies.

Please bring this to all melee abilities, simple.

Use a controller, will solve that issue easilly.

Got a bad knee? Try getting all ur limbs cut off

But in a way I think that’s intentional by blizzard to remove a qol to kb&m so that controller be the only source of this perk, which ultimately excuses them from making the whole Ui based on controlers rather than having one for pc and one for console

I keep avoiding melee builds hoping they introduce that option later and it becomes playable for me
