With as hard as it is to get gems in game. I am not complaining per say. That is the way it is designed. Can we please transmute the ones we are just never going to use? It makes no sense to keep holding onto gems we are never going to use and beg rng to give us what we need.

i mean it wouldnt be a big issue if it was there, but really gems are only a problem for a short time. youll reach a point where it doesnt matter really.

It still is. I got 4 chars, every time i switch, i need to unsocket all my rubies from one char to another

To further reiterate on this point, you can also trade gems now. Still I wouldn’t mind an option to transmute them like we had in D3. It’d be a nice QoL, but not necessarily needed in my opinion.
I would rather use what I have since not always able to trade with friends and in my opinion it is an unnecessary gold expense since I have gems I have if I could change them.
This is DEFINITELY needed , running with flawless reds and not royal reds , yet have 30,000 plus of other ones. Make it happen Blizz
Gem progression finally feels good. Yes on my first character when I hit 90 it wasnt just an instant upgrade. It was exciting upgrading gems. A month in i have all gems maxed on 5 characters and have more then ill ever use.
I do feel they need to find another sink for the fragments but I have made gems for ppl.
5 characters in and I finally have enough for 2 sets of rubies on all my armor.
I think the real problem here though is that the primary focus of gems is on stacking health with a secondary focus of stacking resistance and armor if needed. I’ve got characters that don’t need to slot anything in their jewelry because they are over both caps even after taking points out of paragon.
Maybe it’s by design for a feature to come later (we are looking more like D3 here with each patch after all.)
Still the whole gem system is a bit out of whack and also needs a rework.
Hopefully the cube will make a comeback, the D2 one that is.

I spent time carry friends through nm dungeons which i found to have the highest volume of gems. Perhaps its why we have differing experiences.
