So me and my daughter can play. Console only needs 1 copy for us to play at the same time on different consoles. Is this something sony and xbox pay for upfront by selling the game on thier platforms?
Both of you need an account. So you need two.
Two if you play at the same time. One if you don’t
Account sharing is against Blizzard policy and will result in account being banned.
Not w/ direct family members
Yes, with direct family members.
Two is safer. One is technically fine if you don’t want to play at the same time, but is “against the rules”. I don’t see how Blizz would ever find out, but if your daughter got banned or something then you couldn’t use the old “it wasn’t me” excuse
One per person.
Bro you’re flat out wrong. You can have a minor use your account. Besides, if it’s the same PC and IP who’s going to know? A DNA test?
Sure, I’m wrong, and you linked a minor stipulation which proves I’m right.
Minors can account share up to a specific age and are required to have their own account by a specific age, but you’re just grasping at straws now because you don’t want to be wrong. The OP made no mention of the age of their daughter, therefore you have no basis to work from, just speculation. Never mind the fact that you’re advocating for a minor to play an M rating game. Oh gosh, I’m such a stickler for the rules. Golly gee.
That’s just the thing, they won’t know until an instance like the aforementioned happens;
With that, I bow out. I’m not interested in arguing over established fact.
You need two accounts and two purchases of the game, unless your daughter is a minor and you’ll be playing at different times, if your daughter is not a minor then it’s 100% disallowed to share the account for any reason.
Muyu is correct. Blizzard does not allow account sharing with the exception of a single minor child that they are the parent/legal guardian of. Not siblings, not spouses, not aunts/uncles/cousins. Blizzard does not have family accounts.
You need two battlenet accounts and two copies of the game. If your daughter is under 13 the account needs to be in your legal name and Parental Controls set up. If she is above 13 you have the option to put it in her name, although I would still recommend keeping it in the name of the parent and using parental controls until the child has legal Govt issued ID and can handle any account issues on their own.
Account Access Policy.
Only you are allowed to access an account registered in your name. We don’t recognize the transfer of accounts between individuals. Activities performed on your account are your liability.
You may not share your account or password with anyone, except if you are a parent or guardian, in which case you may permit one minor child to use your account. You may not use your account at the same time, and you are liable for activities conducted by the minor child.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and the use of your user name and password. You are responsible for all uses of your information, even if you don’t authorize them. Security of your account is your responsibility.
