For everyone complaining about how "COMPLEX" the skill tree is

Holy crap. I can’t tell you how many streams I’ve watched or even here in the forums see people crying about how “complex” the system is. GO PLAY POE THEN YOU CAN COMPLAIN ABOUT HOW COMPLEX SOMETHING IS. I’m implore you to google “poe skill tree” and look at what they are working with… then come back to me about what is COMPLEX.

What I actually like about Diablo 4 is that seem to have found a good medium. The tree is advanced enough where us OGs of MMORPGs can come up with like 10 viable builds to use and mid max our crap while remaining simple enough for the new people.

And the cry babies on the other side of the spectrum that wanted “skill tree like POE” how about no? In POE you literally CAN NOT make your own build unless you have intensive experience with the game. Each node synergies with abilities and skills, damage and damage reductions etc… you basically need to be an expert to make an actual viable build, spread sheets and hours of time to create a good build. If I have to tab out of the game to figure out how impactful a node is going to be to my build. Then no thanks.

The point being is I see way to many people crying about the system and not actually giving it credit when credit is due.

Now is there a few things they can change to make it better? Sure. Is it bad or to simple or complex? No.

Anyone that thinks the skill tree is too complex just need to stop playing literally any game with any skill trees at all. Go back to hello kitty online if you are to lazy to teach yourself mechanics of a new game thats geared towards the casual player.

The Skill Tree is a step up in complexity from both Diablo III and Diablo II in my mind (honestly, the way people pretend the later is complex is just hilarious to me). And I don’t want Path of Exile’s tree because it feels like a damn job putting together a build. I ended up on my Druid build organically through the skill tree and loot drops, which led me to where I am now after some tweaks along the way. That is how it should be. Not plugging someone else’s bleeding-edge build into a website so you can see what nodes to fill every level.

The Skill tree is just right, the Tree what gives you bounties on the other hand is pure garbage.

Yeah same.

I wanted to do a non meta build so I built a crit druid with elemental and pets. When I got to around 45 I figured out just how good the build can be…

If you get the wolf boom that reduces your cool downs for animals on crit… build crit then use your pets and torando… holy crap its insanely good. Normally pets have like a 18 second cool down. With that boon plus high crit ,you can literally crit ONE TIME and have the pet abilities back. Its crazy! (plus you can make it so tornado crits and heals you on crit which plays perfectly with the build).

But people wouldn’t have figured these kinda things out like that by just follow some crap meta build and D4 makes it easy for you to branch out and do your own thing and maybe find something crazy like I did with crit, pet and elemental Druid.

Yep, I knew I was going Druid, said I was gonna go Tornadoes, went melee, and have ended up with Petrify as my ultimate, and Blood Howl and Earthen Bulwark and synergizing around them for the damage bonuses from Fortify and Barrier. And I still don’t even have the Aspect that causes the Tornadoes to track enemies. Once I get that, I will be rolling.

The skill tree is extremely easy to navigate IMO. If someone finds it complex they are probably on tiktok 24/7 and can’t pay attention to read 3-4 sentences.
