I understand this is a beta, fine, bugs? no problem, glitches? no problem, lag? no problem, weird character deletion issues? no problem… Pretty much anything aside from server capacity, no problem…
You do realize this was a “pay to play” beta, ie, they had all of these orders upfront, and they knew exactly how many people will be accessing the beta. There is absolutely NO EXCUSE for the lack of server support/planning to accommodate the number of players trying to access the content they paid for…
This failure is 100% based on corporate greed. IE, their choice to not fully support the number of players that pre-ordered the game. IE, they are being cheap, they do not want to invest enough capital into servers to meet the needed capacity. It makes their “bottom line” look better to investors at our expense. New World had the exact same problem, but at least with AGS, that was their first MMORPG release… What’s Blizzard’s excuse?
For everyone trying to defend them, you need to remember this is not their first rodeo, they have absolutely no excuse this time around. They fully knew how much hype this game will have… If it looks bad now, just wait until all of the kids get out of school and the majority of the working class gets home…

To be honest we all are morons for ordering this beforehand. I blame the maxroll streamers for hyping this. At this point they all can be considered Blizz marketing employees.

To make sure the beta test has maximum utility, make sure to stress test the refund servers too, it’s important they get the maximum amount of data.

I doubt that all of those who pre-ordered the game didnt give a rat about the beta, in fact a substantial chunk of the players did it so they can play it, so bones or not, it was part of the DEAL!

Is it embarrassing that Blizzard tried to get paid for beta access? Yes, most definitely. That would also be shameful if the beta ran perfectly.
And people should also be ashamed of themselves if they paid to get into the beta imo. Supporting such behavior from companies.
Luckily, it was reasonably easy to get into the beta without paying.
I dont see anything particularly bad about the beta running terribly. That was to be expected. It will be interesting to see if it runs better next weekend. If not, that could potentially be worrying.

I wouldn’t have preordered it if they didn’t have early access to beta . And I know many are in the same boat as me . So for the ***** who dismissed it as not a pay to play beta, speak for yourself , potato brain.

that sucks, it was instant for me
guess there’s a queue there too
sorry its not the payment or not that bothers me. this game is two months from release and they knew it would be the most anticipated game this year and they still havent gotten servers working for a large player base. So not sure it will be ready in time for release either. To be perfectly honest, Blizzard needed this to go very smooth to earn back some faith after Diablo Immoral and the past few years of crap, they are not doing that. I didnt preorder the game, not yet anyway, I did get in the early access through KFC, I plan on using the next two weekends to make up my mind on the game, if i cant play the game then my mind will be made up for me. So far from the ten minutes ive gotten with the game it is fun, but I will not pay 70 to 100 dollars for a half working product anymore. Been doing that with game companies for 20 years and I am tired of it, if it dont work take the time to make it work, delay the game if you have to but dont release another half finished product because Bobby is a POS. that doesnt care about his customers and the fact that you know most gamers are so starved for a good game they will pay it, and white knight your product for you to all the people complaining like the ones on this forum are currently doing.

I wouldn’t even care about the issues, it’s the fact it’s a limited 3 day weekend early-access period. It’s stupid af. Blizzard already shooting themselves in the foot. Hope the issues will be ironed out before tomorrow or I’m refunding.
