Just click UNINSTALL.
then depending on how you’re feeling, install it again. I’ve spent countless hours researching my system, reading threads, tweaking, performance, and making sure all drivers are updated in the hope I’d find a solution as why in this patch I get 40 FPS in towns and 50 FPS in world. Just reinstall. Thanks again Blizzard as always
Did you reinstall windows first?
Did you call your ISP to tell them it is their fault?

Maybe try not to play it on a potato powered PC?
Alot of it DOES actually seem tied to the dread ‘Inventory’ and in Town - possibly Stash.
I have an extremely high ratio of WB kills per time played simply because, for whatever reason(Apathy) I tend to log in for WBs or set my login times around them and end up doing nothing else - rinse and repeat wbs every 3.5 hours and log out out of said apathy.
That being said - a possible 2-3 hour session turns into a 3-4 WB day with no other activities.
It’s a microcosm of a possible issue(yes, I’m getting to the point):
I have had more freezes in WB ‘zones’ arriving at the last second as I tend to when I open my Inventory as a reflexive afterthought - “Do I have room??”.
Also with up and coming alts - they too are often stationed in WT2 or 3 ready for WBs(I rarely just engage with one at my snails pace of leveling and player engagement).
Moral: When I open my inventory - I can freeze for 10-30 seconds.
With the silly programming …I can lose drops due to this freeze because I wasn’t wthin engagement radius or never had a chance to get a shot off - as the freeze will subside and as per usual the WB is dead within .1 to 15 seconds.
I think the bad coding is REAL concerning Inventory and Stash and they’re were not deflecting when they said what they said about Stash Space - It’s simply borrowed Code that should have never been used and why it was is anyones guess.
In a perfect world they’d have written their own Item code, Stash Code, Library etc, trashed the D3 code and instead opted to use the D3 menu code for UI - Menus, Profile, Quests, Achievements, Clan etc.
Someone made a very very bad decision.
A small FPS drop in town is perfectly normal, considering the extra assets, vendors, and other players etc. Almost no game ever developed, without capped or locked framerates, will give the exact same FPS in every single area.
Now if you have a high-end PC and you’re getting 50fps, then yes there’s an issue.
You’re the 2nd person I’ve seen say this… that it’s inherited code. Know a source which does a deep dive on the topic?
When I uninstalled D4 my PC printed me a “Thank You” card.
Wait… you mean the tempering RNG also applies to the game install itself?? As in, this install, “town framerate +10%”, that install, “helltide framerate -30%”,… that you have to keep trying until you get good FPS overall?? What happens after 5 re-tries??
when you play the forum end game , did your PC ask you “why”?
Their engine and renderer are crap. In a game with such a tiny view distance, and a top-down camera, there should be no performance problems on old hardware.
What GPU and RAM are you running? I have RTX3070, and a few months ago I had only 16GB of RAM, so I was having the same issues. However, I upgraded my RAM to 64GB and I don’t have any problems now. Also, DSSL is on balanced mode. A lot of other people had the same experience - upgrading to 32 or 64GB RAM seems to resolve these issues. However, I also heard people with 128GB RAM still had such issues, but to a lesser extend than people with 16GB.
Edit: The advertised settings are definitely a lie. The game is not made for 16GB, but at least 32GB MINIMUM.
I get sudden frame drops if I try to open the inventory or the settings menu. The game completely freezes for a split second. But it’s reaaaally noticeable.
No confirmed source since we don’t have access to source code.
However the exact same dupe method worked apparently. It’s only logical to assume at least something is the same.
I’m getting 144fps zero stutters at hellties with vsync at ultra 1440p with 3060ti and 16gb of ram (but dlss at performance). The game says for ultra its necessary at least 32gb of ram.
But sometimes the game autostart at medium without option to increase graphics and need to reboot the pc to allow that, maybe some problem at my ssd…
hahaha, you’re awesome! GG WP
