FLAMEWEAVER in Frozen Orb build?

So I found FLAMEWEAVER gloves with +3 Devouring Blaze (Greater Affix).
Is +3 DB better than + Frozen Orb ranks on regular gloves ?
Didn’t get the chance to test both as the PTR is over now.

Didn’t notice it before but having 3 devouring blaze on gloves + 3 devouring blaze on ammy + 3 devouring blaze base would be 90% multiplicative damage to cc’d enemies. So it seems pretty OP at first glance for certain situations.

To answer the question as a non expert on this topic, my hunch is to go with the unique gloves assuming you are a FW / firebolt build bc devouring blaze is a damage multiplier. However, if you are an FO build, flameweaver is not relevant. Youd lose an aspect slot that could be used for Conceited or stormswell.

So if you want frozen orb build, dont choose flameweaver. Choose flameweaver if you are firewall / firebolt build.

It was Frozen Orb build but I had Conceited and Storm Swell already. But no +3 DB on ammy as you need Conjuration Unique ammy for this build. But to be honest I was pretty much melting everything and I felt the difference after I got Flameweaver with +3 DB. Was just wondering if it’s better than + ranks to Frozen Orb.

I’m inclined to say more even more attack speed was slightly better. The reason here is because you are scaling conjuration count and not pure damage so to each (each does very little so even if you did 9% more crit multiplicative it scales a little worse than more conjurations. It’s slightly exponential until you hit the expiration wall.

Take Acclerating aspect in place of Flameweaver for 25% extra attack speed. You get:
25% more chance to double cast
25% more chance to extra cast the frozen orb enchantment

Then convert that through to lucky hit conjuration summons which then also fire frozen orb
Translate that into it’s own lucky hit to spawn more conjurations

And the attack speed of 25% nets out more than the extra devouring blaze.

Good point. So my perfect drop would be Attack Speed, Crit Strike Chance and + Frozen Orb ranks. Can’t wait to try it in S4.

Don’t forget lucky hit chance.

There’s also a new attribute for all equipment, “lucky hit chance to proc soulbrand”. Macro told me its pretty good.

Oh my god i can’t wait. Im going to put soulbrand in every equipment slot.

You take this comment back right now! I do not want ChatGPT saying it’s an inside joke. I need it to say it’s BIS and best chest ever.

@Dust, the very niche use case for soul brand come S4, it has DR close (which doesn’t roll on rares anymore. And more importantly has 15% lucky hit with barrier which is like aspect of fortune. So assuming you wanted to max stack lucky hit, you could include this in the mix.

super niche, since chest now supplies us with + def skills. DR to close isnt great, doesnt work against trap effects, doesnt work against pit extra effects, doesnt help against ranged 1shots. Unless they buff its affixes, i dont think it can ever compete with a legendary chest, that gives us a def aspect slot with better DR. that 15% LH isnt even that good, when do u wanna use 15% LH and everything else trash(or weak) over a godly chest?

Well i know when i wanna use it, only against the dummy.

15% lucky hit gets me out of bed in the morning, and the damage reduction with barrier up is convenient and stacks up nicely with occulus teleport dodge/protection/reinforced.

#BestChest.
