A concern I’ve heard about high end pit grind might be that the hardest levels might only be accessible to druids and sorcs that have the Uber unique staff Ahavarion that spawns random shrine buffs
Solution: Update the code of the unique staff to inherit the shrine limitations of the content.
Since Pit won’t have artillery or blast wave shrines, Ahavarion won’t be able to spawn those buffs.
This may be future proof too as more content has custom or altered sets of shrines.
Would hate to see classes forced into meta builds that require a Uber unique with randomness.
If it’s not hard enough to be limited to those with the weapon or if the reward isn’t enough to prompt players to push that high then there isn’t really a concern.

every class cleared pit 200 without the staff in ptr so where does this concern come from?

That staff doesn’t work for a large number of builds so I don’t see this being that much of a concern.
Also, there’s no need to reach the highest tier.

They’ve confirmed they’ve made the pit harder and that the last levels will be harder their abattoir 25.

where did anyone say the last levels of pit will be harder than aoz?
Dev interview with Raxx. It was a question and answer from Joe Piepiora.

i think they did say somewhere that they did turn up the difficulty.
however, i dont see a reason for this change just yet. We should just wait and see how the changes work out, if stuff is not doable by certain classes, stuff can get adjusted.
Also, as Macroninja said, by the logic applied here, wed also have to remove tyraels might.
This is a fair point! Another Uber unique that might be super OP. I guess that’s the point of them!
just heard their answers in the q&a. so pit150 is like aoz25 and it continues to scale beyond it up to pit 200. i think that is great. truly difficult content people wont be able to faceroll. only a handful of players will be able to clear pit200 probably. i love it.

yea i like it as well. I only hope that every class will have the options to do that. That sadly wasnt really the case in Aoz times. im not sure anymore, but i think necros max was t21?

Ahavarion is good but tbh not the best choice for ultra endgame push.
Largely bc:
- you lose out on two 1-handed items with potentially build defining aspects; this means you have to trade off rings or amulets which could have other aspects and resource / defense attached. OR
- you lose out on 1 two-handed item which doubles the aspect effect; which is a pretty big deal in a lot of builds (things like pulverize with the shockwave aspect; you lose out on a lot of damage if you don’t imprint the aspect on the 2-handed staff)
I agree with you, but we also know how people are. Guarantee we’ll see people on here and other places complaining how difficult it is, or that so&so class has an advantage, or whatever reason.
I’m genuinely curious how far I can get casually on my minion mancer though. I definitely won’t be going as hard as some people for sure, but I am looking forward to it.

i think everyone will have a minionmancer this season and i agree, it is going to be fun seeing how far we get

The fact Ahavarion is a 2 handed weapon already gives it a pretty large disadvantage in addition to it only being available to two classes.
If Barbarians could equip it, or it was a 1 handed weapon maybe it could be a problem…for now lets wait and see.
Why make a change on something we have not even experienced? No one has tested how effective Shrine in the PIT after Blizzard buff the monster in S4 include the Streamer proposed this idea. It was just a blind guess.

Ultimately my suggestion was more of a coding logic improvement. The devs already made the decision that these two shrines break the pit. They just forgot the Uber staff existed and could spawn the shrine buff they are specifically against in this end game activity.
I’m just suggesting they complete their goal.
Agreed it can be a wait and see though.
Pit 150 is as hard as aoz25.
So it is already nice to make pit 100.
