Are these gloves worth using, or should I be using something else for Flay build?
They are great. Especially for ww.
Thanks!
I found a pair, but I wasn’t sure if I’d be better off using something with a higher crit chance and better tempering. I’m running Flay, and I think after some Masterworking, I’m at 49% crit chance and maybe 35% attack speed, if that matters.
I think those are some of the best gloves for high damage but you need a pair with a very high Lucky Hit Chance to make them really good. I do not play flay but these gloves and something that freeze or explode with lucky hit is godlike when you play a fast basic build. I use these gloves with my Upheaval + Overpower + Rupture/Bleed build with lucky hits freeze + freeze damage + explosions and it is just great when everything explodes at once. The boss staggers a lot when you are supposed to freeze but they can not be frozen, so their stagger meter is filled instead.
The lucky chance helps keep stuff vulnerable
Absolutely. The difference is night and day in how much damage I was taking and dealing on t8.
Flay keeps targets vulnerable on its own
I assume you would want to use paingorgers for the +ranks to basic skills
Some simple legendary gloves can give you over 400 critical damage with multipliers. Besides the usual multiplier that works, like the reliable x20. I don’t see how to remove that without wrecking the build.
I think the gloves I have now have Crit Chance, Chance to Make Vulnerable, and maybe Strength (I can’t remember). But I tempered Iron Skin Cooldown and Damage While Berserking. If I made the change, it’d knock my Damage While Berserking down to 296%, which isn’t terrible. BUT, the Fist of Fate that I found has some of the highest non-GA stats I’ve seen - about 8% Increase Attack Speed, about 8% Crit Chance, and I think about 34% Lucky Hit Chance. The damage range for the Unique is about 250%, too.
I haven’t had a chance to try them yet since I just found them before I logged off for the night. Oh, and I did swap to WW instead of Flay, too.
FoF are really ideal for any build with Lucky Hit. Bleed using Creeping Death and if you have:
- Chance to Daze
- Chance to Stun
- Chance to Slow
- Chance to Immobilize
- Chance to Freeze
You can have that CC up almost all the time using an attack whose base Lucky Hit is 50%.
This does not even take into account things like Doombringer, Chance to make Vulnerable, Chance to Restore Resource, Andariels etc.
Man, it really does seem like it’s worth the swap even with the loss of temperings.
