If they wanna have items brick it seems they should make items with GA drop more often then . In a 3 month season why we having drops designed for a season that would need to last a year …
Unless you just wanna play 1 class all day every day for 3 months you won’t have any chance of meeting your full potential ever …
Yeah it sucks, I abandonned the idea to find a new one since I brick my first and only one. To be honest I even abandonned to find an amulet with a single GA on frigid finess for my rogue. Fortunately I finished the season, so it’s not worth the time.
The problem of this system is the number of layers of RNG.
RNG to loot GA on the affix you need.
RNG for temper 1 and chance to brick
RNG for temper 2 and chance to brick
RNG for masster working 1
RNG for master working 2
RNG for master working 3
May be the GA could be on affix slots so when you reroll the affix it will stay a greater one. It will soften a lot the system and the RNG on tempering will be more acceptable.
IDK about you guys but what I usually do is try get what I need in first 3-4 tries, then roll a “safe” option (i.e. Elemental Surge) so it doesn’t completely 100% “brick”
why should perfect items drop more? prior to this season did you ever see an item with perfectly rolled max 4/4 stats drop? it is quite easy to get the right stats for no ga gear and 1 ga gear, insisting literally perfect gear should drop more often is ridiculous.
They’re not perfect. Even after farming for weeks to get that 3GA item for one slot for one build for one class, even when it doesn’t brick like they do half the time, the stats you get are still randomly rolled and middle of the roll range more often than not, and very unlikely to ever be perfect. The time it would take for a mid-core player to get 3GA items in every slot for that one build with the right tempers is so long that they not only are unlikely to manage it in a season, they’re also unlikely to manage it before patches change the nature of the items again such that it was a wasted effort in the first place when the gear all becomes off-meta. The itemization in the game is and will be highly unstable for the first few years of the game’s life.
Fortunately you don’t need to have 3ga on your stuff to clear the entire game.
A two rank masterworking with stuff with 1 good GA is enough to complete season.
You don’t even need to masterwork on necro (at least pre holy bolts nerf), it took me probably about 15, maybe 20 hours playtime to finish the season journey.
I don’t have 3 GA items either and couldn’t care less. I did find a pair of perfectly rolled 4/4 gloves last season for my pulv druid with as much if not more time spent playing as others asking for 3 GA’s to drop more.
But you know what’s worse??? Amg I killed tormented Duriel like 10 times and all the other tormented bosses once, and I only found 1, that’s right, 1 uber with a GA affix. And it only had 1 GA to make things worse!!! My other 3 or 4 ubers had 0 GA’s like wtf how can I complete teh content with the commoner regular ubers???
Like hello blizz where’s mah GA ubers I deserve? MIDOINTHISRITE?
Tempering is exactly the same in every way besides the method in which it occurs to rolling affixes on items naturally. In fact, it is a lot better - it is both targeted to what you want to aim at, and has MUCH high chances to hit than what an item on the ground does.
The actual process was
RNG affix 1
RNG affix 2
RNG affix 3
RNG affix 4
with a MASSIVE pool of affixes and thus a MUCH lower chance of hitting on each affix, especially as it got toward the end. Because you never considered an item prior to it already having the affixes, you didn’t consider all the bricks.
Now it is
RNG affix 1
RNG affix 2
RNG affix 3 (all of which are from much smaller pools and are much more likely to hit)
Temper 1 (massively more likely to hit than affix 4 was)
Temper 2 (still massively more likely to hit than affix 4 was)
Enchanting is relatively unchanged but also benefits from the much smaller pool of affixes. Master working is endlessly rerollable and functionally the end-game loop rolls around it - and it MASSIVELY increases power beyond what was ever possible prior to S4.
TL:DR; Getting gear comparable to endgame, perfect gear prior to this season is now complete childs’ play, and although getting full GA gear with proper tempers and masterwork is extremely hard, it is completely unnecessary as well. Stop expecting to get 3GA gear with good tempers, and just enjoy it when and if it comes. You’re not owed a temper hit on a 3GA piece of gear just because getting one is rare - the fact that they can miss their tempers is part of the equation that informs that rarity, and they would be even rarer (by a large margin, seemingly) if tempers were not brickable.
