Fireball vs Frozen Orb

I run fireball, friend runs Frozen Orb.

We are both fully geared, but I want to ask… Where in the tier list would you put either?

I can solo T6s currently, 7’s are rough, 8 is a no. He can do about the same, but runs out of mana far more than I do.

Lighting Spear/Frozen Orb > Frozen Orb/Lightning Spear > Fireball

But Fireball teammate with fireball enchantment makes everyone better.

They’re basically the same build if you think about it. One just does ice and one does fire. Both are massive AoE damage.

Thanks for answering though, I might switch my build up, as I have my Shako and Starless Skies.

And that’s the sad part. Both are balls but one is one or two tiers below. You would think they are equal.

Someone who specializes in Fireball should get the same results with someone who specializes in Frozen Orb. Same thing with Blizzard and Spikes vs Firewall and (oops Firewall got nothing lol).

Same results but different. If you can clear T7 comfortably with a Frozen Orb based build, I should have the same expectation with Fireball, or any core skill.

It’s about keeping my rotation perfect in a T7+, one mess up, and I just explode.

Honestly, I just prefer fireball, I would run fireball/meteor again, but it’s not worth it without a Skyfall and I am not replacing my shako.

How much life do you think I should have to even survive a T7 comfortably? My armor is over the max, and my resistances are also maxed.

Best way to survive T7 is not about maxing out def and res. It’s about maxing your damage and blowing the enemies before they can get you.

And this is exactly how meta builds does it. Sure good def and resist are important, but believe me best defense is to have insane damage.

I have multiple Sorc builds. Fireball struggles compare to Frozen Orb. But eventually if you wanna do T7 comfortably, you will soon end up to meta like builds based on LS/Winterglass. Frozen Orb just so happened to integrate smoothly with Winterglass than Fireball, so FO already gives a huge advance over Fireball.

My Fireball started doing better in T7 after doing some hybrid setup with Conjuratuon and Winterglass but at the back of my mind, who am I fooling. It’s still LS/FO build and not Fireball.

In the same manner, you see these Sorc streamers bragging their new T7 T8 builds but under the hood, it’s really just a variant of LS/FO winterglass builds. Lol
