Finding the statues

I’m REALLY not interested in Alt+tabbing for these damn things. Not interested in retreading areas I’ve already been too (due to how chunks of the fog of war are revealed). Maybe take a page from Ubisoft. There farcry games pretty much sell the player maps for collectibles and points of interest in game. Also farcry reveals these points of interest if they are within 100 meters or so of the player.

So if you run past a statue and don’t see it… it doesn’t show on the map. It should definitely show and should probably be red. And you should offer to sell the maps too.

Don’t make me wander aimlessly looking for these things.
And those extra side quests… kind of annoying. Seems like they drop from random mobs/rocks/tree stumps. lol
:expressionless:

The games about killing monsters and finding loot. This open world scavenger hunt stuff should be made much easier to encounter.

They could have gone 2 ways: 1. Make less of them to find in the world/make them easier to find so that you naturally obtain most of them while doing the quests. 2. Make them less rewarding so if you don’t care to get them, you aren’t punished in power for it.

I think Blizzard is learning that this mechanic simply isn’t fun for a lot of people. That being said, get 2 monitors. Put your map on the right, game on the left (or vice versa), and spam Z.

If you don’t want to hunt them, there are maps online that give every single location of the altars.

As for the side quests, some of them are interesting. A lot of them aren’t.

It just dawned on me last night when I dinged 57 and realized I had finished most of the side quests that I"m going to be grinding dungeons and tree quests for 30+ levels in order to hit 100. It’s going to be brutal. They needed 2 or 3 more systems, one of them just being a simple boss run/bounty type thing, to make this grind to 100 entertaining.

Yeah I’m trying to avoid that though. I can’t quite fit a second monitor either on my desk… had to drill a hole to put a large mounted monitor on my desk. Ultimately I need a wider desk but don’t feel like getting one (current one is actually nice).

So generally I use my phone instead of alt tabbing (BTW alt tabbing in farcry sometimes crashes the game which is why I hate doing it - and even for other games if they’re designed poorly. I am traumatized)

They hardly provide anything. Don’t stress yourself out over them. If you don’t see them in an area don’t worry you WILL be back to that area eventually for some other reason, be it a Helltide, to do a dungeon nearby, a Tree of Whispers bounty, or just passing through with an alt. Eventually you will find that Altar and once you get it, the tiny rewards it offers will be yours forever. Don’t sweat it if you don’t find them all right away they’re not worth the stress.

You don’t need the Altars to get the renown in the zones. You can get those with just the quests, dungeons and Strongholds. The Altars and Cellars are just little extra to speed you along and reward you for exploring but you don’t need them.

Actually sounds like a nice QoL feature for an update! Even if it was a random drop, that would make it more in line with the Diablo experience. Maybe a map drop for each area.
