I have tried everything with the stupid Fenris error, but nothing is working. Re-installing, updating everything from graphics card to game to OS and whatever is in-between. Even tried playing it from an external hard drive to lessen the load on my pc. Any other ideas? It seems this is happening with a lot of other people, so I’m just adding this in the hopes it will help Blizz to see that this is an issue a little bit faster and maybe patch this bs. It would be nice to actually play the game I paid for and not have to play vicariously through streamers.

Same problem. Tried everything I can think of as well. I have dived deep into the forums and even had someone go into my fenris log file and look into the cause for mine. No solid solution. Virtual Memory related on my end (which spikes to near 100% once the game loads, which seems to cause it to crash). Even when I have settings from NVIDA turned down as far as they can possibly go. Everything was fine a couple of weeks ago.
Downgrade the Nvidia Drivers to 561.09 if the software of nvidia ask for update, just ignore it for now, use that till diablo show the alert of outdate drivers, for far this version is stable for series rtx 3 and 4.
Do you have a 4k Monitor? if not, then uninstall the high quality textures, this will leave your D4 running more smooth.
Cap the framerate to max 100fps, this isnt a shooter game u will not notice the difference between 100 to 165 or 240 in this kind of game, don’t put extra charge to the Gcard if u don’t really need it.
Always check your pagefile size and keep on mind always keep enought free space in your harddisk, if you have a NVM unit storage leave it to windows decide about the size but keep on mind on have atleast 200gb free
All this is for give chance to the system to survive to D4, due this expasion is green like the theme is, have many stuff to fix in this expansion, you can do a spam skill as hell and the game can’t proccess that, the game isnt recycling the resources due this spam, some skill can be active for hours if the scenario fit with this skill, for example Touch of Death can be active for hours if a enemy is near to jump then think about it, that amount of information have to be stored in some place in your machine.
And a final tip, always restart your pc before play D4 that give a big chance to avoid a crash in a couple hours, think the version of PC of D4 like a console game, you turn on the console to play, do the same in pc this mean restart your pc to play till our friend of Blizzard fix this problems.
