None of those 40 pages of patch notes really changed the game very much. All of the builds play exactly the same. It’s still a boring gameplay loop and terrible resource exhaustion.
Leveling is still a massive chore, and needing to replace aspects is still a problem.
I’m predicting about 1 week before people start to realize this game has a fundamental issue at its core. I’ll get flamed and told that S2 is great - but then those people will agree with me 1 week from now.

Don’t let the door hit you on your way out
This is clearly coming from someone who hasn’t actually played and just got on to rant, game feels wildly different brother.

I don’t see how you can call it the same as season one either, but to each his own.

I won’t flame you, I would just suggest you come back in a year or two if you’re even remotely still interested. If you aren’t, not a big deal, play other games or do something else with your spare time. Diablo 4 isn’t for everyone, and it still needs a lot of work, but I personally see it as moving in the right direction.
I will admit they are 1 for 3 right now in terms of wins. I’m still skeptical about the future of Diablo 4, but I’m currently enjoying Season 2, and when I stop enjoying it and get bored, I’ll wait until Season 3 to see what they come out with.

The game feels different to me, but not drastically different. I don’t think this game is something they can revolutionize in 3 months though, nor would I want it to at this stage. Large changes every 3 months is going to confuse players as much as piss them off. It’s a big boat and needs time to steer as much as everyone wants it to be a different game.

Come back in a week and tell me how you feel.
Watch, you’ll see videos pop up on youtube with the same opinion. Just give it a minute.

Noone is going to agree with your leveling is a chore comment… it took me like an hour to reach level 30 and i was f***ing around.

Season one was better than this crap, They should have stuck to their initial vision and added more side quests and not reduced the horse to a joke. They should have ignored the kind of players whos idea of fun is doing the same 15 minutes of a dungeon over and over again hundreds of times to get to max level. This patch is anti-casual.

Yes, it is trolling. It makes no difference if i like the game or not.
If you feel that the game has not changed at all in season 2, then your post is either trolling or you’re just being dumb.

Pretty sure boring =/= chore.
Ok fine. It’s both boring and a chore.

I agree - it seems improved overall. I expect S3 it will be a bit better.
That said until a huge improvement to itemization and fundamental changes to some skills happen I don’t think it will ever really feel substantially different.

Yeah exactly. Looking for the same aspects for the same builds is really not going to keep a ton of players engaged.
All just to fight 4 new bosses? That’s a pretty big undertaking for a small moment of novelty.

So i think the issue for me is that there just arent enough skills. Look how many different attacks and skills are in d2 and d3. The other issue is that when it comes to the basic and core skills, it kind of locks out of the other ones because you need the points for passives or whatever.
That and if you dont like the current skills, then you either roll a new class or play a way you dont enjoy. I myself prefer to be an archer class or a sword and board character. Seeing as there is no sword and board character, i play rogue. This leaves me with pen shot, barrage, or rapid fire. None of them feel great to play as. If i could use both rapid fire and barrage, then i might feel better.

Yeah it’s way too few skills. The reality is that they are competing with POE, which has an enormous amount of build variety. You can play completely different skills every single season, on multiple characters.

I mean 99% of basic attacks being useless or simply filler mana generators is a huge problem. There is almost never a case to level them further except - to my casual and limited knowledge - Arc Lash builds (which I personally hate since I hate melee casters).
I do want them to make more skills. Maybe just re-do the entire skill tree sometime. I fell back into PoE and there’s just so many options you can take. Maybe they’re not all optimal but you can really cook up a skill combo and try it out relatively easily.
D4 additionally has the issue that there’s just a lot of bad or jank skills. The limited ability points and skill slots really do shoehorn us as well. Effectively every usable build has a movement skill (if it can), a single main damage skill, then every other slot is used for utility / buffs of some kind because it’s just more effective to focus on making a single damage skill great than trying to run 3 of them.
I’m not sure how they could fix this

The fact that your core skills are gatekept by a 2 point requirement is dumb. You should be able to allocate those 2 points wherever you want. I should be able to make a build with zero basic skills.
