I am currently in Torment 2 at Paragon 145.
In comparison to previous seasons, so far I got the impression that unique items are dropping at an extremely low rate in the overworld / from ‘regular’ content. I suspect this has to do with Season 8’s changes to loot quantity and wanted to know if other players can confirm.
If I remember correctly, I havent found a single unique item from chests or monsters while leveling 1-60. Even after that, it seems almost impossible to get hands on this content, let alone their GA versions, if you dont do boss runs or gambling.
@Blizzard: Since unique items are handed out like candy in boss runs anyway, consider going for more fair drop rates everywhere else, as these highlights here and there make progression less dull and predictable.
Yes they explicitly communicated GA drop rates on uniques from bosses got nerfed.
FWIW 1 GA legendaries from obol gambling is pretty good right now. But I think the expected average number of runs to see a 1GA of a specific unique from a boss is about 50 runs.
I think its fine, im in torment 3 i have gotten a huge load of uniques. During boss runs. And for GA uniques just spam target farming boss runs. Also target farm boss matz, it dose not take alot of time, as long as you dont waste time in town. Salvage everything, only keep GA items, and those you put in chest to evaluate at a later point… then keep target farming… its all about doing things the right way.
The chests from the season bounty jounrey, especially after you finished it, give 1-4 ancestrals, legendaries and uniques. It is not nothing.
Thanks for the comments and advices. But efficiency wasnt exactly my point.
Bosses are the kind of content that makes me fall asleep, so I rarely do more than a handful of runs in a row, even if materials are piling up in my stash. I would rather kill regular monsters for loot and have some cool drops from other activities. This felt much better in previous seasons so I wonder what happened.
