What’s the thinking with horses? What was the goal here?
They’re frustrating and clunky.
Horses should have one speed: fast. This is the only reason to put a mount in your game.
So, what’s with the slow speed and cooldowns?
What an archaic approach to game design. “Not too much fun and convenience… so let’s put cooldowns on a mount”
Remove the slow speed and cooldowns, and please stop using the “fun-police” logic in your game design.
I literally laughed out loud the other day when I played with a couple of my friends who are on PC and we all hopped on our mount and they took off twice as fast as me. Blizz needs to somehow fix the speed issue on console - it just makes no sense why the horse should be slower on console than on PC. And other than the cooldown if you get knocked off your horse by enemies, which I think is fine, all other mount cooldowns should be removed from the game. They are dumb and serve no purpose other than slowing you down.

Ha. That captures it pretty much. Except on console we don’t even get to go fast. Our horse’s sprint is slow and only lasts a second or two before getting “cooldowned”.
Horses are just to get around on the map while avoiding agro for the most part. Otherwise, they are pretty worthless.
It’d be nice to be able to use a sprint charge to blow through those annoying little barricades, as well.
I like the horse speed, lets me see herb etc… i do dislike the cds on dismounting to climb or jump, or just dismounting. They should remove the sprint cd, let you use it as much as you want. I find those who zoom past me arrive almost at the same time at legion events. Loading lag is probably the reason its slower than most like.
My werewolf druid barely even finds the need to use his mount. With move speed on boots and neck and the passive 9% from talents while in werewolf, my druid zooms as fast as people on horses in the open world and I don’t have to deal with getting caught on everything and the cd
