Hello Blizzard,
Diablo 4 was a mess and it is difficult to get back into the game. Made it to level 100 in Hardcore Season 2. Tried to get back into it, but it is so bad I decided to return to Diablo 2 Resurrected for the new upcoming season on December 6.
Please Blizzard, I don’t want to read sentences or paragraphs of text while trying to make sense of all these new features/equips/items in these wasteful temporary seasons. There was something new every season, which is great, but they would remove things from those seasons and introduce new ones season after season.
Blizzard, you have to reduce the amount of text we have to read in order to be optimized in Diablo 4. Diablo 2 had everything simplified, the text on tooltips and anything in your inventory was down to the point. Diablo 4 on the other hand had Lucky Hit, and a big description on how it worked, as well as Overpower, Fortify, etc. These things were all ruining the game, not making it more fun. The skill trees barely saw much change since the start of the game.
I’d love to see Diablo 5 using a more simplified approach + mechanics like Diablo 2 had.
The Auction House from Diablo 3 was also a great idea, but farmers destroyed it. Solution? Make daily / weekly dungeons with loot that can be sold on the AH, basically can’t be farmed since you have to wait until you can run it again. This will keep prices on the AH fresh and not watered down like what happened on Diablo 3. Paypal transactions was definitely sweet too.
My final points for Diablo 5:
- allow us to further increase the zoom distance for the camera like the way it looks in D2R or more far if possible
- stop constantly removing valuable programmed/developed features exclusive to seasons, if you are going to have seasons, keep the features you are adding
- have higher skill ceilings like we did in D2 / D2R, that skill tree as well as WoW Classic’s talent trees were the pinnacles of Blizzard’s success, just look at any D2R character planner, it’s just so fun to experiment different builds with and the numbers you can reach by adding skill points, D4 was just a shameful version of that
- I would not mind seeing the graphics take a step back if needed to allow higher skill ceilings and customization with builds while keeping text simple , with all the effects + sprites on the screen at end-game
