This was the best boss encounter in the whole game so far and the difficulty was perfect for my character with the following stats:
Necromancer, Lvl 93
11k Health / 60% Cold resistance
Sever, Skeletal Mages
ilvl 925 weapon
It took me 2 tries to defeat the boss, and even the 2nd try wasn’t easy - I had to actually concentrate to win the fight. I think in most scenarios the difficulty is perfect when it takes less than 5 tries to complete the objective.
Another example of a good boss fight is The Curator from Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon.
Looking forward to see more of this kind of content.

I one shot him yesterday for the first time, but it was a close thing. Almost died because I didn’t expect actual boss fight mechanics. Agreed it was a great fight.
It’s too hard on uber 96 without playing current meta class.
I haven’t tried the new versions yet. When I wrote this feedback I was playing with one of the worst builds in the whole game so that kind of explained the perfect difficulty I was experiencing.
The beast in the ice is still pretty good compared to many other bosses, but I’m not a huge fan of unskippable phases in boss fights. It’s kind of annoying to see the health bar stop moving and the boss become invulnerable.
Blood Maiden is my absolute favorite now, very cool design, but I have already killed them gazillion times so it’s getting a bit boring.
