I believe that along with the major changes coming for the better of D4 under S4, that it would be worth it to also add some serious enhancements to PVP Zone. While its a niche within the gaming community, it would go a long way to extending one of the core components of a game (from a longevity standpoint)
PVP Vendors - Needs occultist & jeweler in at least one of the PVP cities and seed vendors need the same love as obol/purveyor PVP Test Dummy - Because pvp zone has different caps than the rest of the game, it would be helpful for testing PVP. PVP Risk/Reward - If a player is bloodmarked and is killed, they should drop 1% of their gold as the “death penalty”. PVP Duel Mode - If two partners agree to dual mode, you can designate a 3rd party “observer” nearby which would zoom out view of the area, then it would also show the health, resource, and action bars for both players. This would greatly support the PVP community as a whole - and streamers organizing duels PVP Killstats - There should be a stat of how many players killed in a season(and eternal), along with how many times you have died. Extra titles for 100 kills in a season (IE Serial, Killer) No NPC Area - area of the PVP map which NPCs dont spawn, to allow for PVP fights without involving NPCs Uber Abomination - Something similar to Abomination & Blood Maiden that can be triggered in PVP zone (be bloodmarked, killed a player in last 15min, and kill abomination) that has a high drop rate of rare mats (VC, angels breath, & temper manuals, 1 living steel, & 1 random varshan boss mat)

edit 2: The death penalty seems most controversial so maybe not. Also obols are getting a huge boost, so should seed vendors
edit 3: DR effectiveness needs to be “unrestricted” to where it works the same as outside of FoH, with the damage massively increasing with S4+ and DR being removed more, this is leading to more and more one-shot mechanics w/o real survival choices for PvP Paper,Rock, Scissors
edit 4: The passive ranks to Martial Vigor need to be capped in the FoH to not scale beyond 9 (At most) because this can become effectively immortal against most other builds and ruins PvP
the reason i play diablo4 instead of other ARPG because diablo4 has pvp
i believe this game has so much potential if pvp develops correctly
but there things PVP needs to attract more players:
PVP Leaderboard (player kill to earns points, die to lose point, no points gain from killing the same player, clan can also be ranked which clan has most points)
PVP arena won’t work because of imortal builds
PVP events (purify seeds on designated area, rotate every 5 mins)
PVP boss mats (introduce pvp boss that is hard to kill, drop mats)
Top 1 on Leaderboard will be honored in loading screen of everyone when enter the game or enter the arena (for example, A cutscenes of that player carry a bag of ears walking on loading screen)
There won’t be any changes to pvp for S4 I can guarantee you that. They even said as much in the campfire. Maybe by S12? Supposedly more PVP stuff coming in the expansion if the leaks are to be believed. Either way keep up the good fight, and good luck.

Associate rewards with PVP will only lead to many organized fake PVP. Like the fake PVP season quest in S2. This happen to all game with PVP mode, not only D4. I have even played a very old text based game called Utopia and many kingdoms organized Fake War as protection from outsider when they pumping their soldiers.
Division 2 also has Fake PVP because of the PVP zone has special reward.
There is a strong PVP community that devs could rely on to help try and balance a bit.
We know there are already pvp mechanics coded into the game both as stated mechanics (buff and debuffs shown in the pvp zone) and hidden caps (such as overpower for example)
Some of those mechanics had great intentions I’m sure but leave the game a bit broken in its current state. A great example of that would be Damage over Time builds which are already extremely strong in pvp getting the additional pvp zone buff of 20% (they dont need it ) Small things such as removing and or tweaking that programmed buff would help.
PVP is the real endgame
endless content with real players
more fun playing with real people than just smashing mindless computer monsters
balance the game around pvp and bring more modes to pvp then it will create a whole new genre
I respectfully decline only due to the fact I do not engage in PvP anymore then I have to for a seasonal objective. I feel I would be a poor representative for the PvP community at large. I do endorse the petition for more options within the game, regardless if I will use said options though.

Another great feature would be “viewing” - perhaps a way to receive no damage, but unable to interact with anything.
As someone who hosts events in the FoH, it’d be great to have a way to showcase the action going on without having to be killed and stream it from a ghost.
I already wrote once about training dummies for pvp and jeweler and occultist would definitely help our community. I would also like to see the option to change builds in the future, because this also makes me quite tired, so I hope that more people will participate so that it will benefit us. I definitely agree
If we can’t expect BGs for another X year(s), then let’s spruce up FoH a bit more to our liking . 100% on board with the suggestions, the QoL would be greatly appreciated to make the Fields a place to stay at all day long.
