Some rogues have mentioned they can clear a Pit 100 for speed farming in about 90 seconds now.
Even with holy bolts my bleed bash runs about 3.5 minutes. I know this can be faster if I had better gear.
I’m curious with what everyone things the best speed run builds are for barbs now post patch? Still bleed bash with better gear? Tyreal WW bleed combination? Something else?
what can reliably finish a Pit 100-105 in the fastest clear times?

Rob2628 on youtube im leveling a 2nd barb and im lvl 80 doing NM 75 … at 100 he was killing uber bosses lvl 200 in 2 seconds its the best barb build at the moment for speed i think … its like 5x faster than my bash barb at 100 … mind you im using shako grandfather and rage of harrogath but im utterly destroying NM in like 3 min
Yeah, I’m really feeling the slowdown in bashbarb without holy bolt for larger aoe.
For anyone who finds this of value, I dropped life gems in armor for more strength for DPS. Since surviving was not an issue, the extra damage just helped shave more time off the run.
bash barb takes about 3- 3.5 minutes at pits 101 - boss time is fast, but the dungeon is a bit slow.
ww/dd barb is about 2 to 2.5 minutes, I have had sub 2 minute runs. Boss takes about 2-3 times longer depending on the RNG on the devils, but it is generally a minute faster than the bash barb.
Since a lot of builds can do pit 101, it’s important to fine one with AOE and decent single target.
Bash/bleed is pretty clunky, even with good gear. I suppose if you run through The Pit ignoring everything but Elites you could clear a 101 in two and half minutes but you’d be hard pressed to go any faster than that. It just has a very narrow field of AoE. Dust Devils is definitely the way to go. Rogue is fast but can be fragile.
My WW DD Bleed barb can do 101 in under 2 min consistently.
I dunno, I generally finish the dungeon part around 1:30 ish and finish the boss around 2.
if I have bad routing in the main dungeon, I finish around 2 and hit the boss around 2:30.
I have unoptimized gear, I have no rogue CHD on my gear yet. Everything is close+ damage for the PIT Boss.
If I don’t finihs the first level by 40 seconds, I know I’m doing a 2+ clear usually. Sometimes the pathing is bad.
Once you’ve optimized your gear, the boss die in 10 seconds and most of your time will be spent traveling through the dungeon.
Bash with leap, stomp, rupture, 2 shouts. Grandfather/Andariels does 101s as fast as i can move. Boss dead 1 stagger.
I tried WW DD for a day and I was able to clear very fast but would sometimes get 1 shot by the boss.
With bash I can ignore boss mechanics, but it takes a bit longer. So for me its a toss up.
So is Bleed Whirlwind Dust Devils the definitive Pit Speed Runner Build now?
Would be curious what everyone’s speed time is in context with holy bolts and masterworking level. I’m considering the switch to WW but hesitating on the time to gear up, brick items, masterwork, versus just being slower on Bleed Bash.
For context, with Bleed Bash + Tyreal + Selig + Holy Bolts my 101 clear time is between 2.5-3 minutes. Usually closer to 3 due to map navigation errors and double backing on bad dungeon layouts.
I do know I can go faster without Selig but I find the quality of stress free game play with the 30 second delay not having to re-do any bosses or dodging while farming.
I use Momentum to counter WW’s movement penalty, and I’m fully 12/12 masterwork upgraded.
I usually do 23~25 pit 101 per hour.
Some advice being sought.
I finally took the effort to masterwork some Whirlwind gear to 12/12. I did a pure copy and paste off Rob2628 skilltree and paragon. The only difference in gear before masterworking is that I did not always hit imposing presence on temper. and I’m missing two rubies that I just don’t have the mats for.
Most weapons are 2 or 1 GA.
I can get the Pit 101 run time down to about 2.5-3 minutes. Which is slower than a Bleed Run Bash for me.
If I wear Selig I don’t die. If I use a DPS amulet with Heavy Handed I do sometimes die in a boss fight but my run time is still about the same.
Armor at cap, Resistances all at the Tyreal higher cap as well.
What am I missing here to push faster speed runs without dying?
Spam the WW- Key instead of holding it ?
It’s definitely not that since I already do that. The masterwork to 12/12 did of course make a difference getting me back to the 2.5-3 minute mark comparable to my bash gear.
I can’t seem to get consistently under 2 minutes or 90 seconds which would be ideal for speed farming that I see others doing.
Part of it is bad luck with layouts, but part of it could be that you’re slowing yourself down. Keep moving forward and let the dust devils kill things behind you. Don’t stay around long, just keep going.
Shaved a bit off my speed runs by doing that, maybe it’ll help you too.
