There is no reason to have such ridiculously time consuming work built around farming kills. Just make the dungeons that house the end boss have a obstacle to overcome? That’s better than farming loot to combine to farm the actual loot…
Funny; I’m drowning in Boss mats. Do Reign walkers and pick the tormented boss opals…

Yeah between Helltides, Whispers and Realm walker I am overflowing with boss mats. I don’t actually even run realmwalker myself but Helltides is decent exp, drops, boss mats and awards whispers points.
Typically I’ll run a helltide or two a day + kill the boss in each pvp area for 5 whispers each and that all nets me 2-3 whispers catches and only takes 15-30 mins. So 15-30 mins I have two inventories full of items, a bunch of boss mats and a good chunk of exp.

I think 6 at the moment, I’ve had about ~20 in total before crafting a few mythics to get the right GA rolls. I don’t actually run the bosses that often though since having gotten the drops I need. I only really run them any more to farm veild crystals for masterworking. Been trading alot of boss mats for gold.
Might end up farming more bosses though to try and get the dream Grandfather roll with 3x GAs on stats, resource and damage.
lol … by your definition you could say anything is time-gating. Leveling is time gating. Any farming that needs done for anything is time-gating. Clicking the load button is time-gating
Anyone who does a variety of content has plenty of boss mats.
Most people complaining about boss mats don’t play the game. They just want to farm bosses for a living.

The season is about over i hope people would have mats by now lol, still very annoying farming boss mats at the start, run 20 bosses then back to farming mats kinda sucks, I agree with op just have a real boss at the end of nmds

If you need boss mats I got plenty on the Seasonal realm I’ll never use. You’re more than welcome to have them. Or anyone else coming across this thread.
