Extreme FPS drop during cutscenes

During regular gameplay I usually get ~140-160 FPS on high settings @ 1440p except when the game has to load in new assets, where it heavily stutters for a couple of seconds as others have already reported.

But whenever there’s a “cinematic” cutscene — e.g. the party the villagers throw for you, your character’s vision in the chapel, encountering the hermit,… — my FPS drop way down, somewhere around the mid-to-low 40s.

FPS get back up right after the cutscene has ended and this doesn’t happen during “normal” slightly zoomed-in discussions with NPCs.

My specs are as follows:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 3D, MSI MAG x570S Tomahawk Max WiFi, 64 GB DDR4 @3200 MHz, ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 3070 V2 GAMING OC 8 GB, 2 TB Samsung 980 Pro PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

Running Windows 11 Pro 22H2 (build 22621.1413), latest AMD chipset drivers (5.02.19.2221 from 2023/02/28) and latest Nvidia display drivers (531.29 from 2023/03/14).

Same here. It’s not the movie cut scenes, but rather the rendered in-game cut scenes. So the movie at the beginning was flawless, but then when the cut scene is in game, it has major FPS drops. I suspect a memory leak.

My Specs: Intel 10990K, Aorous Z490 Master, 32 GB Team Group Ram @3600 mhz, EVGA 3080ti HC, 531.29 drivers.

I also noticed latency spikes when cutscenes are active: Is this somehow a server issue?

Also, why isn’t there an offline/local option to bypass these issues while they get fixed?

The standard setting of cut scenes is 30 FPS. You can deactivate this FPS limit in the options.
