How does it work with things like this.
I own the game digital on pc and physical (disc) on ps5.
I tried to pre order the expansion on my ps5 but the store does not recognise that i own the game, is it because of the disc version?
Anyway, If i buy it on pc Will my ps5 account have acces aswell since i got the base game?
I would prefer to not having to buy the base game again for diablo 4 on ps5 just to have it as digital so i can have Acces to the expansion
All I know for certain is, you will have to purchase the game on both platforms to be able to access the game on both platforms. It’s how licensing works for video games.
Sony-Playstation allows you to play the game on their hardware which requires a license, this license only states you can play the game on their hardware and no where else. Which in turn means you need to purchase a completely different license to play it on another platform.
How that all works with a disc version is beyond me, if the expansion has a disc version though you’ll probably have to purchase that for your PS5 instead. Along with purchasing a copy of it for PC.
Yeah i would be fine with not owning it on pc for a starter, But the ps5 wont let me buy it since its not recognising my disc version as a copy that i own or something. Real weird that i Cant just upgrade my ps5 license with base game disc
Brother. I am having the exact same issue. I mostly play on ps5 and play the gamepass variant on my steam deck minimally, With time i will more than likely purchase expansion for pc too, But i will play mostly on playstation and refuse to purchase the base game again digitally just for the expansion. Have u noticed the background for the disc has changed to vessel of hatred? For me it has despite it being the base game, Its as if the system thinks i own both already and hence cannot preorder? Following for any updates
I have also tried to verify license and uninstall and reinstall too. To no avail.
Yeah the game is up to date but all expansion options are greyed out because i ”dont own the game”, so im sure it does not think i already have the expansion.
You would think If you go from the in-game route to pre order it would know You have the game.
It wont surprise me If they have done this with intention. They could easily make it As long as my ps license got VoH it could run from the base disc. But noo they want more money i guess.
