Excluding solo players from PAYED content is terrible decision in franchise advertised as "Play the way you want"

Yes. “Another one” thread about upcoming raid and entire shift towards MMOfication of Diablo 4.
But I do want to provide feedback and critique towards this weird approach Blizz is taking with D4.

D4 forum and subreddit is flooded with new/mmo players and for whatever reason Blizz decided that YES! That’s the audience we want! While at the same time admiting that 80% of players are solo.

Then there’s entire legacy problem. Diablo and other aRPGs live and die based around solo players. The most dedicated players, the ones playing the game for years, decades are pretty much always solo. Hardcore pushers, speedruners, boss farmers etc. Pretty much always solo players.
Hardcore especially… Imagine playing this mode, going into the raid and getting killed because little timmy decied to be AFK during boss fight. Good luck!

And finally - There are some geniuses saying “hey! How about you give it a try first and then you’ll see if you like the raid or not!” Sure. Fine. So let’s do that… How about Blizzard adds the raid for FREE to the base game because otherwise what you’re asking is for me to “trust” Blizzard by… Paying them 40USD and seeing if a forced coop content is “okay or not”
And if it’s not? Will Blizz give me back, let’s say, 10USD because that’s the content I’ll NEVER see as a solo player?

Lost Ark - THE mmo for Raid lovers added solo option.
WoW - Billzard’s own MMO magnum opus added AI teams for solo players so they can play raids as well.

But Diablo 4? A famously single player game with OPTIONAL coop is now forcing coop in one of the biggest chunks of PAYED expansion? Terrible idea
Blizzard. Please. For the love of God. Sure, add coop focused content. Do it! I don’t mind! But at least ALLOW SOLO PLAYERS TO TRY IT! Make it super hard, balace around coop if U want, but still make it so if a solo player want’s a challange - Allow them to experiance the content they PAYED FOR

There is nothing forced about it. It is optional. How do some of you not get this?

  • Cosmetics are locked behind it.
  • New materials has vastly increase chances of dropping in this particular content. (Otherwise you have to deal with MUCH lower % chance of it dropping somewhere else)
  • It’s payed content that solo players won’t be able to play
  • Entire game is coming from the franchise and genre build around solo with optional coop. Not the other way around.
  • By saying “there’s nothing foced about it. It is optional” is, no offence, one of the dumbest things you can say. Why? Becasue you can say it about anything. I mean playing D4 in general is optional so why would anyone provide any critique or feedback? Right?

So yeah… You know if you have nothing interesting to add then how about not writing anything bub. Writing on this forum is optional. There’s nothing forcing you to do it;]

I don´t mind this force group. I would try it with friends.

But if you like it (nothing bad about it). Can you please not using stupid arguments to support it?

It would be like saying it is ok car doesn´t have a brakes, it is still running and brakes are just optional.

Yeah, i mean, its not Blizzard first big mistake with D4 and it will probably not be the last

They have been making terrible decisions during this last year, mostly based on their ignorance about the genre (like S3 traps)

The people making these decisions very likely come from MMO backgrounds and played very little ARPGs in their lives

Forced coop is a terrible decision

Half part of team are vetarans from MMO and second part first job juniors.

Neither of them have passion or experiences with ARPG.

you pay for diablo, not a solo game like tetris. The devs decide which direction it will go and thank god they listend to the feedback of the payerbase and streamers that it needs to improve in coop otherwise it will reach rock bottom!

I won’t be playing the dark citadel as I’m a solo player. But it isn’t forced content because I do have the option to not do it.

Making the argument that it’s paid content is not going to cut it. PVP is paid content and I don’t participate in that, while I did the gauntlet in season 3 I no longer do it so that’s another paid content I’m not doing.

For now it’s one area. So I guess we’ll see how popular it is and if they continue to move in that direction. If they do then I have a choice to make, fall on line or stop playing the game. But again no one is forcing me to do anything.

Uber bosses are also optional right?

  1. You can drop mythic anywhere

  2. You don´t need that.

Also legendaries are also opional, noone force you to use it, you can play full blue gear.

Jesus everytime there are stupid arguments to support something, it is just proving point how bad it is :smiley: Bcs fans are not able to use any relevant argument to defend it :d

You can’t be THAT dumb…

ALL content in ALL games is optional using your way of “thinking”.
If you play Elden Ring you don’t have to fight enemies. I mean… You can just run around doing nothing.
You don’t HAVE to shoot a gun in DOOM, I mean you won’t progress at all but, again - using your definition - noone is forcing you to do so.

So yeah… Dude… Just stop. It wasn’t funny the first time, it’s still not funny. I get trolling is hilarious for some but really… Time to drop it.
