The game has become virtually unplayable just as of today. Everything was fine before on high settings. Nothing has changed system-wise, and the internet connection is normal. Did Blizzard stealth patch the game?
No.
Chances are, something else got updated or changed (that you arenât aware of) and its affecting the game performance.
I would begin by properly restarting the system. Power icon, choose RESTART. Very important. Do not use shut down.
Let it reboot and then load directly to the game and see if it changes.
It has become unplayable for a lot of people, Blizzard just doesnât give a toss. Itâs not your PC, itâs not your ISP.
Tomorrow Last Epoch will reset; you start fresh there or wait till November for POE 2. Blizzard and its Diablo really isnât worth the hassle.
I did all of that well before I posted here. As of today, itâs a moot point because my new more powerful laptop came and I installed the game anew. No problems now.
Noted.
Game = not an issue
Running game on laptop from 2012 = issue
So the problem was the old computer. Got it.
the stutter and lag and the TP crash i am having this since sundayâŚbefore that the game runs smooth. no updates, nothing changed in my system.
As far as you know.
I love it when people use this, as if there is no possible way their system could have done an update or something without their knowledge.
Obviously, something has changed. And its way more likely to be on your end than the opposite.
D4 does not operate only with what is installed on each machine, right ?
So something could also change on D4 end, without our knowledge and any new local install, no ?
Blizzard being mute about this does not help.
If that had happened, a lot more people would be having the issue.
No.
There is a way higher chance of the issue being local. Not what people like to hear, but its what I see, regardless how it may seem.
Take this very thread.
The person that opened the thread with the issue they were having was solved with a replacement machine. That means the problem was local to them. It may have even been fixable without replacing the machine, but it just so happened that they decided to upgrade.
I see these kinds of things all the time.
So no, its highly more likely to be a local problem. A setting that may have changed with an update, a driver update, or something that was installed and that has changed, etc.
Or a piece of hardware acting up, going bad. This can happen too.
I was the one who started this, and yes a new machine solved the issue. The only change to the old machine was a graphics card update that was required to run the PTR. So yes, it was a local issue. However, I was only asking if anyone else had had the issue. There is nothing wrong with that.
The thing is, I did not change anything to my PC, did not get any patch to install, yet I did not get any âreconnecting to Diabloâ, few freezes, no TP prolem, and so on this week. If I had upgraded I would probably also think that this is what solved the issue.
What I read in this thread is an issue raised which happened to be caused by a change required by a D4 change (PTR):
Like most of the time when such an issue is raised, which is also quite often, there are always other players posting to say that they also have the issue.
So, sorry to insist but when this is an issue happening locally it may not have only one isolated âlocalâ problem as it can be triggered by D4 changes and impact many others.
I also see less players IG this week (new release coming)
None of what was said changes the fact that the problem can be local.
That was my point and itâs still valid. Excuses are exactly that. Things to try to blame outside of the sphere of your control.
Iâm not saying the game is faultless because there are definitely some performance problems that I donât agree with that can lead to issues. But that doesnât also mean theyâre the direct cause of an issue.
This game is fickle, fussy, and sometimes frustrating from a problem resolving standpoint. At least for me. While Iâve got mine running pretty solid I know many donât.
But Iâm still convinced that most of the problems can be solved without having to deal with blizzard at all.
But they could also work on making the game a little more stable, and a bit more robust to handle differences in small settings and tweaks that we shouldnât have to be doing to make the game run smoothly.
Thatâs the point, at this stage I do not see what more I can do on my PC.
And I see many players in this situation.
If it does not get any better, I will more change game than change PC, even if like this game.
Thanks for your help and conversation.
But I was blaming no one. That was the point I was trying to make. I just wanted to know if anyone else was having the issue. That info right there told me that it was me and not âthe gameâ per se. I realize that people are quick to blame the game or Blizzard for what ever problems theyâre having, but I absolutely was not doing that. If I did not make that clear in my original statement, then Iâm sorry.
Youâre right. I wasnât trying to blame you specifically but I hear this a lot so itâs easy to associate that. My apologies.
This happened to me too. I canât even run on high settings anymore. Game stutters and disconnects when load times are long. Iâm glad I held off on the xpack. Game is unplayable garbage.
