Kurt, you came back just to post a video?
Your fans will get mad.

Here, I’ll save you from having to give wudijo a click. I don’t even know if he accurately pointed out the real issues with D4.

There are three major factors that result in an ARPG’s longevity.

  1. What are you doing? The end game loop.
  2. How are you doing it? Builds.
  3. Why are you doing it? Gear.

In all three major aspects of an ARPG’s longevity, D4 is shallow and boring and need to be massively reworked / overhauled.

Boom, saved you from having to watch that video.

Notwithstanding the sarcasm, Wudijo’s video is worth a watch because he not only points out the many issues, but he offers suggestions on how to fix them and generally puts everything in a proper context. He likes the game quite a bit, but is realistic enough to know that it justifies a half-hour video documenting the many problems. No hate, no fanboism, just honest assessment and feedback. If only the forums were more like that.

The truth must be told!

I watched the video earlier, and I gotta agree with most everything he mentioned.

I do hope this video gets some attention by the devs, it’s worthwhile feedback to take into consideration.

Much respect for his constructive criticisms.

I agree with most of his points, but how can he say he likes a game with all those problems? Those are not minor problems, it’s the whole game.

He was too positive and didn’t convince me his way would be any better.

So pretty much the whole game.

What are you doing? The end game loop.

Don’t care. Ever heard of games that are mostly good throughout and there’s no need to do the same thing with slight variation for more than twice the time it took to get there?

How are you doing it? Builds.

Yes…and the more you make of these the better. The ā€˜meta’ loop is ruined by only have 10 char slots (and/or no armory but doing it only at endgame does take a bit of it away - somehow I still hate seasons tough) and being on a schedule.

Why are you doing it? Gear.

Wrong again. ā€œSense of progressionā€ would be (barely) acceptable as an answer (if it has an endpoint before it gets stale or trivializes content or requires you to run trivial content to grind towards something - see PoE - proably). The real reason is fun. Some of us don’t consider pure dopamine from 5% upgrades to be fun. Maybe not even if the 5% boost in power comes from a new somewhat interesting affix. Maybe a really good unique that changes something but that only extends the loop by a bit (and they should do that).

That video is actually the only video I have seen about/with complains about Diablo that gets NOTHING wrong (with the exception of partially …maybe…vulnerable damage…but if he would get into it beyond why it’s a problem exactly as it is now he would figure out the part he maybe missed and the solution - which is capping it to something you can get by having 2 or 3 max rolls of it in WT5 or equivalent which has to happen faster).

Please don’t advertise streamers. It’s against the forum code of conduct and many ppl are sick of it.

Then you can’t comment on what he says in the video. All you can you do is strawman.

Posting a video of a critique is not ā€œadvertising streamersā€. Don’t bring up CoC when you don’t understand it yourself.

can add resistance aswell …

This might seem like a small issue but they really need to fix getting around on the horse. You make this large open world to transverse but then the horse is so tedious to ride. It’s not fun at all. Why would anyone spend cash on horse skins if it’s so miserable to ride one.

And who in the nine hells thought putting barricades all over the place would serve a good purpose. And how did the resist problem not get addressed before launch…that deserves an open explanation…I wish there was more feeback for the community from the devs on these forums.

When the number 1 streamer of a game has a problem, especially one that has been linked to with Blizzard endorsement, there is a bit of a problem. This guy literally is carrying the viewership on Twitch ATM. He quits, its GG for the most part, and this game is already tanking hard in viewership. Lost Ark is even ahead of this game by a few rows of games.

Construe it how you like. I don’t view it as an advertisement.

…and many people appreciate constructive feedback. If you don’t like it, don’t click.

I’d view it as constructive feedback if they were your own ideas without any mention of someone you’re just parroting.
