Only requiring one person to provide the mats makes it impossible to balance solo and group. All people in the group should have to provide the mats, and the advantage of playing in a group should be that the content is easier to kill in a group. Monster health shouldn’t be ramped up when 4 players tag team it.
It should be hard to beat the uber boss and attacking as a group should make it easier, not cheaper. Maybe I forget, but I thought that’s how the uber bosses worked in Diablo 3.
Nope it was who ever opened the portal. Exactly the same as D4 and D2.
I must be thinking of another game. This approach would encourage you to make friends who you repeatedly play with who are at your level, rather than doing rotations with randoms who you never play with again.
I don’t want to penalize people for teaming up, however I respect the core argument here.
It’s absolutely silly how much more progress you’ll make… and how much faster it’ll happen… when you have 3 other people sharing boss summons, compared to running that content slowly.
Well, mathematically, it’s four times as efficient as going solo. It feels bad.
This is somewhat balanced out by A) The pain in the butt that is finding a group, and B) sometimes having to carry “dead weight” in that group in the form of a weak character or someone who doesn’t actually have enough mats to summon the boss the agreed number of times.
Stygian stones aren’t too hard to come by if you’re doing Infernal Hordes, but man does 27 blood per Zir summon really suck, considering the limited options for farming it.
Maybe they should add boss mats to the Pit

You are against the rotation where you get 300% more items.
I think solution here for all the players that dont like grouping / trading is to just release the Solo Self Found mode with a bonus to drop rates.
It would obviously be very popular and would separate the players into 2 camps that would get along better.
I don’t do boss rotations and I don’t care that other people do and get free runs for it.
Your right also mythic uniques should rain from the sky and at the end of every run we should get 100$ wired to our real life bank accounts

Group Finder is coming, so I highly doubt the current paradigm of get 4 for 1 will last.
So sure - enjoy it for S5. Less than 2 months more, and it won’t matter.
I for one, applaud the death of finding randos for rotations. We’ll just need to wait and see how rewards get structured.

While I don’t like feeling forced to group up, I don’t want to see that option being nerfed. If they changed it to make the whole party required to use mats, they should 4x mat drops to compensate.
