Even Rhyker is changing his tune re loot

oh that’d send the cosmetic shop out of business!
Imagine getting an Azurewrath with Frostmourne cosmetic overlay and an additional attribute or skill… Frostmourne Hungers!

To be honest, I think loot is fine as it is right now. The only issue I have is that Blizzard apparently does not listen at all when people complain about rawhide, iron chunk and forgotten souls. They say they fix it, but it’s still the same bottleneck as it was before, just slightly less.

The only thing I would change is that Ancestral gear actually has codex affixes in Ancestral range always.

Loot redesign was a must for this game to survive and it’s in an okay-ish state right now. I especially like bosses not being loot pinata’s anymore and seeing more loading screens to salvage in town instead of actually playing.

Blizzard has limited resources of course, and I would spend those resources on the one other thing this game needs to actually survive: CLASS BALANCE. Everything else, even new seasonal content, is secondary to that.

Alternate art cosmetics would be unique for each mythic. Not cosmetics from other items or shop.

That just attests to how poorly designed the game is at a fundamental level. Chase items feel amazing to acquire because they allow you to do things you couldn’t before. The game does need to feel good at a baseline without acquiring full BIS items, except with way lower stats.

The way it is now, the only room for growth is doing the exact same thing in hour 100 as you were in hour 1, except with bigger numbers. Content is also identical, except with bigger numbers.

These are fundamental problems that D4 shares with D3, and D3 is a vapid game for babies due to this lack of depth. People will play a league for longer if there’s more to do, and the activities are virtually the same at every stage of progression thanks to being able to skip the campaigns.

A good way to look at it is, early on, you should be using talent points to solve certain issues your build has. Once you grind a bunch in endgame and drop X/Y/Z key items for your build or get gear good enough to hit certain breakpoints, you can then change your trees around to pick up more optimal nodes because your gear, rather than your trees, now solves those build problems.

For endgame activities, there’s very little progression. If I’m not mistaken, you get everything available pretty much straight away, except the Pit and boss ladder, correct? The Pit is fine as a way to level Glyphs and limit test your character, but the boss ladder is just standing in an arena while whatever busted build in the current league is 1 taps the boss and you get showered with “”“unique”“” loot. When you do it enough, you don’t even get excited for uber unique drops, because you’re chasing 2+ GAs on them, making even these “chase” items boring as hell.

Yeah I understand this, but if people are busy chasing the art cosmetics in-game the shop would start to go … un-noticed? IF they only put as much effort in class-balance as they did cosmetics lol.

The problem is you can’t use the enchanting process to mess with the greater affixes. Treating ancestral items like “ancient” is so plainly obvious, but D4 has yet to really get enchanting right.

They also can’t get tempering right.

Reign in the RNG some. Let us pick the tempers we want, enchanting should work with greater affixes, maybe let us pick the stat we want from enchanting and even replace a second/third stat. Allow tempering on unique items. Uncap paragon so 300 isn’t the cap. Bada-bing-bada-boom you have people’s forever game.

I think there is a broader range of fixes needed for loot.

I think a system could be in place to fix this real quick. 3 or 5:1 sell of the same item to the appropriate vendor to give you a rerolled version of the item. If the items being sold have 1 GA (all of them), then the new one comes with a GA. Same with 2, 3, or whatever. The same randomized ranges are rolled fresh.

This would at least give you a sink for all your trash.

Aspect ranges are too high. 1-15% for interdiction??? Who is going to equip a 1 2 or 3%???

This range should never exceed 100% range. Its 1500% right now. That is bonkers.

This aspect should have a range of 8-15%.

This aspect sells for 50B gold at 15%. That tells you how jacked up this system is now.

Proof? Can’t just make up statements like that with no evidence. I’m also somebody, and I want it, so that already renders your first sentence false.

I’ve also played enough ARPGs to understand what horizontal item progression is, and why it’s good. As it is now, item rarities shouldn’t exist outside of legendary/unique/uber unique, and that’s wretched design.

That would be ok if they had some good affixes. They dont. Also with Blizz RNG you would get life per sec and random resist stat most of the time lol.

ya upgrading a rare to legendary is not even viable anymore.

Thats pretty good luck IMO. I ran a buddy through pit 100s today and I got 6 bags full of loot. 3 total ancestral. I think it was 3 runs per bag full. So that would be roughly 18 runs with 3 ancestral.

Yeah but then they would just make them all the rarest thing ever. No one would see one accept streamers and CC warriors buying some duped crap. Thats the way Blizz operates. They give you something but take 3 somethings back.

All hail Rob our Lord and Savior

I really do hope the devs come up with something to tie the range of the unique aspect to the GA count, or same equivalent measure. Between yesterday and today I had 2 uniques drop with 4 GAs each, Tibaults and Banished Lord’s, but the unique aspect rolls on both were 1 point above min. This feels even worse than bricking items during tempers. I can’t imagine it was the intent of the devs to have the equivalent of a unicorn drop and then have you feel miserable over it.

Stop treating streamers and Youtubers like SMEs…they’re not.

aspect upgrades are more rare than mythic items.

for example, i have found a total of TWO aspects of interdiction (7% and 9%/15) after 111 hours. i mean, dude, wth.

i am sorry, this extreme rarity for them is just to much if you ask me.

I wouldn’t call a statistic gathered from 40 confirmed runs is good luck. Pit100 has high yield of GA gears are the information from “The German”, which I think you have no idea about as you don’t watch streamer video.

My testing is just to validate whether going up beyond Pit100 the yield is better. As I regularly saw GA items in my Pit150 clear, which I won’t use them for speed run.

Look like Pit110 has more consistent result:

“postimg.cc/7GTXXNqj”

Just fire everyone on this team amd hire Blizz North guys… problem solved! Atm people are coding like monkeys fing coconuts… props to the Nahantu area desing team tho… that area is God sent

The only one running pit 110 is spiritborn. Any other class MAY be able to run it but it would only be the top end of players in already the best gear. That test is meaningless. Most people probably arent even running pit 100 unless they playing SB.

I dont see many GA in pit 100 at all. One here and there. Nowhere near the 6 in 10 you have. So yes, its good luck. Or you could just say I have bad luck. Either way its crap.
