Even Rax has finally had enough

I agree with him on every single point. This is absurd, after this much time including a paid expansion (which yes I do regret buying now at least at full price) many core problems remain and the game is feeling more and more like Diablo Immortal instead of D2.

while i agree with a lot of it, many of his points exist because they made changes based on feedback from the community. i don’t like a lot of it either, but here we are

Yeah, I definitely remember everyone clamouring for the same exact season re-skinned for the 7th season in a row. I definitely also remember people saying ā€œhey blizzard, can you add a timer to literally everything, it’s not annoying enough as isā€.

Makes sense. As a streamer he wants a game that’s good for streamers.

Of course, what’s good for streamers isn’t that great for most players.

As far as I’m concerned he’s one of if not THE single handedly most responsible individual for the game’s failure

Didn’t bother to ā€œrealizeā€ the game not even for a one single second, it was all about conveniences and efficiency and ā€œraceā€ to him (every single damn second)

And not only that but after devs gave him exactly what he wanted on a silver platter he left to play LE

No offense but no matter what I can’t have respect for him and his ā€œfeedbackā€ tbh

that’s a gross oversimplification. they have tried a lot of stuff. like season of the construct. while cool it didn’t do well. their best recieved seasons have been ones with powers. i really hope they take more risks going forward.

Yup, they usually want a long term grind and super low drop rates and stupid crap like that. Easy to ask for that when you have an army of simps lined up to give you money and items and group with you on demand.

In my mind, while they have tried some new stuff, the problem is all of it is put on top of a very poor base. The ideas don’t do well because of the game itself, not because of the ideas.

Yeah.

I’ll try the game again when loot isn’t completely boring to me. Until then, I just check in here and elsewhere to track progress.

Kudos to all the folk who love the game as is and have a fun season.

Those streamers need the games to stay relevant. D4 is dong bad and that is not good for streamers either.

The best recieved season was a season without a season theme. Let that sink in…

sad but true. I hate this :poop: with passion and this ā€œtimerā€ stuff does not fit the Franchise at all.

I think you give him to much power and blame. This game was done bad by blizzard and blizzard alone. They will not change the game for ā€œRaxxā€. No offense to him he achieved a lot of followers but those numbers are peanuts fore a playerbase of diuablo. If he had 50 millions subscribers, he has the power. But not with less then half a million.

Ok I watched the full video and agree with everything he said, but I am past the point of thinking the game can be about what Raxx and I seem to both love about ARPGs.

It’s all about the item hunt for me, and the chance to get a super rare and game changing drop like a ber and jah. Or the runes necessary to make an infinitity. I barely ever am able to do this in a season, but that’s okay. That just means I’m driven every new season to try and see if I can that season. The idea that I could get such dopamine is enough to motivate me.

But that’s just not going to happen here. So I believe they picked the lane that isn’t that. And that’s ok, so long as they can cultivate it properly. If they really are working on something major, then that is probably taking up a lot of development time – which is going to leave the game that we’re playing in a bit of a limbo.

So I’m kind of in a wait and see mode. Diablo 4 is the worst ARPG right now, D3 beating it out too. But it’s not so bad I won’t play it.

Even though it’s been a long time, I still consider this an Early Access game where they are working on its final iteration. They’ll get there, I think. But it’s not going to be an item drop dopamine game like I had wished.

The season of blood was a massive hit. so i disagree. If u were right they wouldn’t keep doing it.

That is the problem. Yes S2 powers have been recieved well.

Just like i enjoy to eat a Pizza. It becomes an issue when all i get to eat is pizza. The once great taste of the pizza will become less and less enjoyable and sooner or later turn to aversion.

Maybe blizz just like you though. ā€œHey S2 powers where good, lets rinse and repeat foreverā€

that is not a genius move, its very dumb.

while i don’t disagree they do it too much, it doesn’t support your point. don’t forget they have numbers we don’t. like player engagement

It took D3 2 years with some still fairly legendary devs to make it what it became. Either this team has what it takes to realize Diablos awesome potential, or they hurt/destroy the IP. If I were a MS higher up I’d make sure they have all the talent they need cause this IP is worth billions.

this would be true except for the fact that everyone feels the same way without him having to say anything, but way to deflect blame onto him instead of the devs

Just for the record: I deleted my original account because of S2

Conveniences galore and misses in every single way possible

It was THAT bad

  • Bombarded with trash monsters for the sake of it (can’t even take a look at loot until new kamikaze wave spawns)
  • Overcrowded early game (even from lvl1 felt like lvl25 ffs)
  • Monsters overnerfed to oblivion (one/two-shot wave after wave after wave after wave => until lvl85, totally pointless)

Which brings the obvious point that:

  • ā€œEasy but longā€ journeys (i.e. without any consequences) on the long-term outcome are by far the worst possible design approach

And people ā€œapplaudedā€ like devs did the best thing possible… First of all everyone with an ounce of analytical skills knew this won’t be able to last long and secondly knew that it was terrible and the reason is simple:

  • Conveniences are BAD, can’t sacrifice literally everything at the altar of convenience. Games are not supposed to be efficient, they’re supposed to be playful

That was the season when I also spoke about total lack of balance between skills cause a skill I put every single point into was doing less than a skill I just used to make monsters vulnerable (yes, lvl16 Death Blow was doing less damage than lvl8 Upheaval)

I mean… NO, S2 was the worst thing that happened to the game, devs ā€œlearnedā€ the wrong lessons (that cost them a lot more long-term)

Luckily S7 was supposed to be S2 2.0 that backfired hard so we’re kinda back on track but I’m afraid it may be a bit late tbh

When having representation also have responsibility to do it the right way too, can’t just ā€œnibbleā€ willy nilly how everything is ā€œslowā€ and ā€œinefficientā€ and has to be more efficient and… yeah, he was a ā€œrepresentativeā€ of the community, has to do a better job at doing so

AT LEAST take a bit of look at another point of view

they don’t, though. for example his first point is about chase items. how many times have you heard people complain about the difficulty of obtaining them? since season 0?

I wouldn’t put the blame on one individual streamer or content creator, but as a group, yeah, they did play a part in some of the mess we have.

My biggest complaint (although a minor one, it still irks me) is the constant drumbeat of ā€˜Speed! Speed! Speed! Rush, rush, rush! Hurry, hurry, hurry!’. There was one brief shining moment a few seasons back, over a year or so, where the mounts were actually working pretty well - they turned smooth, they started moving when you clicked mouse button, weren’t getting hung up on rocks and twigs, etc… For about a week. Then came the cries of ā€˜But I still can’t spur my mount in town! Whaaa!’ Well, now we can spur our mounts in town, but in the overworld they went back to being :poop:.

I don’t use the mounts anymore - get some movement bonuses from tempering, enchanting and aspects, I outrun a horse. Yay!

The only people responsible are those at Blizzard. And they have been responsible since after the beta (when people could start giving them feedback).
