Even more news from Wowhead šŸ‘

Honestly, do you want to know the real reason why they added it in its current state?

Streamers and Content Creators will love it. They can live stream a continuous run with commentary then create all of these guides on how to do X, Y, Z Bosses and mechanics.

Now keep in mind Blizzard does not do this because they care, but rather they need them to keep players engaged and attract new players. They are free marketing each with their own audience.

Additionally, gated weekly activities paces things out keeping players coming back. Player engagement metrics will look like they are going up holding players hostage with the new content. Cosmetics are the driving currency, which Citadel will have. More cosmetics can be sold as more players are driven into grouping.

Face it. You are in the abbatoire and Blizzard is leading you to slaughter.

they will have vids and builds already made waiting on a timer to be released on youtube.
NDA compliant pre-agreement made.

This is going to be the M+ of D4…

In one Gamescom interview, the devs said that they do not count as Minions while you have stated in another interview that you ā€œjust got confirmation that Mercenaries are considered Minionsā€.

ā€œYeah, I was given bad information in that moment, they do not count as a minion and so do not inherit things from you.ā€ - Rod

I sometimes wonder if Rod knows what is going on in a game that he is in charge of.

Holy Christ I hope not. I’m all for the DC based on the information we have so far but if at any point it becomes a timed dungeon with negative modifiers that annoy the player more than add to the experience then I’ll be skipping the content.

Are you backtracking so early on your beloved co-op?

ā€œBlizzard noticed that the players who want to socialize are growing,ā€

Well no, you made it 4x more efficient to group for bosses so people want a group finder so they can group up for the added loot with the least amount of effort and communication with other players.

What they noticed is that younger players want more co-op and they want more younger players to become loyal Diablo fans.

Rod is your typical gamer that remembers the gist of things but not the details. To be fair though that’s not really his job anyway. It’s also why I’m glad he hasn’t been on a live stream/campfire since last year. He detracts away from the important stuff.

The game is 100% co-op now.

i am like 100% sure that this is trash AI generated thing same as their ā€œ150+ completly different dungeonsā€ aka NMD when the game started.

It’s more like Rod is your typical manager who pretends that he is completely immersed in his work and is interested in it , but in fact does not know anything about it except for some numbers. And all his knowledge is absolutely superficial. This is actually not a bad thing, a common situation for a top management, but in a gamedev managers mostly like their games and play them, which is absolutely not the case in our case.

Not trying to say Rod is the best, but he is actually playing the game.
That’s one of the things I want to give credit to the team for, it’s that they all actually seem to be playing the game. (Adam J rejoiced about his boulder druid killing Uber Lilith this season, Adam F was happy to have dropped plenty of mythics this season, Rod said he reached 100 with 3 toons in S5 etc.)
Unless they are just sharing other people’s screenshots on social media and pretend it is theirs, but I don’t believe so.
They are however not the kind of players to push high pit tiers.
Thing is, Rod is the franchise manager, not the game director, not directly involved with dev. He is likely not micro-managing every single detail that goes in the balance and the maths etc. He just needs to know the system that are being implemented well enough to explain them to the mainstream audience. He doesn’t need to know if a Merc inherits your thorn (unless he wants to know about it for his beloved Necro thorn build).

Me ww dd barb stuck at T6, around 200-300 aether.

I got shako + grandpapi only.
I would definitely need tyreal + starless ring to do T7

You mean hand holding, The same players who cry if the boss fight takes more than 30 seconds.

This is their first respectable design choice. It’s almost like the devs have grown some balls. Unfortunately I don’t like deeply coordinated activities because other players expect me to talk while I play.

e. replied to wrong person :man_facepalming:

Yeah a real blast. Toxic people who rush, rush, rush, through the dungeon and get snotty if you are going slow due to health issues, or you die because you didn’t see a boss’s one shot coming and missed dodging it.

Whereas if it was setup for solo play I could play and enjoy at my own speed and pace. Blizzard has no respect for their solo player base any more.

I dont see how this is going to work for hardcore.

Teaming up with strangers, difficult content, requires communication and working together, but just one life.

I already see the outrage and inappropriate behaviour when someone messes up and gets the party killed.

I think they misspoke it. They want AT MOST 1 build per class that can do it.

Reread my comment. You are misunderstanding what I said.

What are these hypothetical scenarios you are coming up with haha. You got some awesome mental gymnastics going on where it’s going to be the dark citadel community against you.

If it bothers you that much just skip out on it for good or until the off chance they make it solo, which I highly doubt.
