Eternal players and other PTR thoughts

Other PTR thoughts First:

I like the increase in silent chests throughout Sanctuary. Need to stock up on those keys.

Paragon: 5 boards is not enough; if you want me to go and get the yellow and blue nodes give me a reason with passives or CDR or crit chance or core skills or passives from other classes or something.

Unpopular opinion: I like that the Runewords do not seem overpowered and I can walk around with Druid wolves on a Sorc or Barb or Teleport on other classes and it does not affect my power either way. I do understand that folks want them buffed but hope they don’t make them build defining.

Pit changes for Glpyh experience is great too; it still would be nice if you showed the exp and not made it RNG based but I like that they go to lvl 100 and have another legendary affix at lvl 100.

QOL: Getting all 750 legendary aspects to my stash when I am looking for GA items is a bit too much. If we could get GA items and those 750 that would be an upgrade to current aspects.

I have seen a lot of uproar from the seasonal v eternal. I want to try and help those seasonal players and the devs understand where the eternal crowd, from my perspective, is not happy. I play both seasonal and eternal and due to time constraints do not have the time to fully max out seasonal characters and I like to go back to the eternal realm and fully max out my characters. I also like to go to eternal and play with friends who do not have the time that I have to play each season. In doing this I want to be able to log into the character and have the same amount, or close to it, power. We already lose power of characters with the balance changes that take place at the end of current seasons to change the Meta which is understandable and hopefully with the stat squish these changes will be less and less as the game balance develops.

I currently cannot go back to my Druid from season 2 Necro and Barb from season 3 and now my Necro from season4 and Sorc from season 5. About 500 hours played is down the drain and have to start over again.

Not to mention the Uniques with the GA affixes are being nerfed and some of the affixes are exactly the same on an 800 as a 925. This is the only unique that I could find with a GA of one that I already had and the GA rates have been discussed and I agree are too low.

Example: Esu’s Heirloom
GA with Mvmt Speed after killing an elite
Mvmt Speed: 800: 12.5% - 18.0% 925: 12.5% -18.0 % SAME
Greater Affix: Mvmt Speed after killing Elite: 800: 18.8% 925: 18.8 % SAME
Crit Strike Damage: 57.0% - 75.0% SAME
All Res: 800: 10.0 - 12.0 % 925: 8.0% -10.0% change of 2%
540 would be a nerf. And I would have to farm for just about the same item and my current one with no change in power.

Here are some examples of the amount of power that I have and the current item power on PTR with what I will be losing.

Lucky Hit Chance and Crit Chance:
925 GA: 9.0 %
800 GA: I think 12.0% ( Unable to log back into the PTR and did not take photos like I did with the 540/925)
540 GA: 4.5%
750: 6.0% - 8.0%

Intelligence:
GA 925: 135
GA 800: 182
GA 540: 80’s if I remember correctly
750: 89-99

Resistances:
GA 925: 60%
GA 800: 75%
GA 540: 36.8%

I was unable to find some of the other items but getting 50% nerf to my crit, lucky hit and intelligence is making my character be substantially weaker. I am already chasing 3 GA items and multiple GA unqiues to min/max the build.
Current 925 items are closer to ip 775 than 540. How I would fix: Current 925 legendaries/uniques with no GA go to 775 to keep current power. Uniques with a GA and mythic uniques to 800. If the mythic did not have a GA it still does not have a GA. This gives us a reason to continue to chase without losing current power, New mythics knowing the next one will have a GA, 800 lvl items, and GA’s.

You make some valid points, but you need to realise that a massive factor in expansions is a higher gear level. Yes, the stat squish/rework has made it a large decrease in power, but there still has to be a higher level of gear to earn.

You would be better of asking for the gear to be level 700ish, and for the Ancestral drop rate to not be so abysmal.

I think eternal realm players are more upset that this is essentially the third straight reset in a period of 9 months. Let’s say for example, season 4, 5 itemization updates were pushed to season 6, much less people would have complained. Eternal players were very positive to the season 4 itemization changes even though it required them to refarm everything. It’s the frequency that’s bothering the eternal players.

That is a valid point. Hopefully there will not be any more huge overhauls, so that only expansions create higher tiers.

The problem is that they are not making higher level items that would be better or new. They are simply nerfing current gear so we would have to farm back the exact same items that we have now. No thanks.

Yes, which is why I said hopefully there will be more revamps.

If that were the problem, then we wouldn’t be constantly told that this is the third straight time it has happened. Because the last two times did exactly that: old items stayed the same, new items were made available that were better.
