This feedback seems very helpful.

The detail OP left out but is talked about elsewhere is legacy items also got (inconsistently) rescaled, not just marked to not let them work with the new Masterwork system.

Eternal players get dabbed on again. Warms my heart.

What’s really happened is that:

  • Some existing masterworked gear don’t appear to have changed much;
  • Other masterworked gear have even lower gear ranges than their new counterparts even though they have the same item power – or even just other gear the player has in inventory. Like, there are some amulets that still have their old % main stat level while there are others that have % main stat that are even lower than the new ones.

This seems like it’s a bug, to be honest. The Devs need to look at whatever automated system is doing this because it’s clear that it’s not working properly.

its not a bug, theyve done it before with the stat squish and loot reborn. They knock everything down to the lowest tier. They make your existing gear WORSE than what it was before.

moving on if they nerf gear again

Glad it warms your heart, as soon as seasonal players stop buying into the cosmetics for the seasonal realm; your borrowed powers will be gutted as well.

I’m also an Eternal player, but I used to split my time between Season and Eternal, especially when the season was bad or ended early. I spent countless hours on items, hunting mythics with 3-4 GA, perfect mastering… and again, this bunch of mercenaries do it. If only these were still ideal, precise changes… but no, the low percentage of people enjoying this, and Season 11 is doomed to failure. Season 10 had record retention with Chaos items. Why? Simple, variety of builds across multiple classes… Congratulations, Blizzard, for doing a sh… job and not keeping your promise to think about Eternal players with added content and not changing items anymore. The future of the game will be bright in your hands! I challenge anyone to come here and talk about it… you’re all hiding in the woods! Define your path soon and stop deceiving your customers!!!

This is deliberate, to erase progress. These are tactics on par with a poorly managed corporation with poor MVP products, trying to force its customers to waste time because, for them, time means money (completely virtual, only on paper, because only no-life customers remains, and most flee to the competition). I’m once again convinced that Microsoft has handed over IP worth billions to completely incompetent political kids, interns with no knowledge or experience whatsoever. And no, my views aren’t just empty words; I have years of management experience, and I can tell the difference between a professional and a youngsters just pretending to be one. The behavior of these kids during these PR campfires is comical: they have no idea what they’re talking about, can’t answer simple questions (which they choose themselves), and the whole thing is incredibly boring and incompetent. This is kindergarten level. The Diablo IV brand is currently managed at Wilson’s levels. This looks like sabotage, a very strange thing overall, as if the CEO of the corporation was deliberately trying to devalue their core brands - but why would he, after throwing nearly $70 billion to the Chinese, only to lose out now?!

By the way: introducing these changes means that I will uninstall this product from my computer and my family’s computers (we played cooperatively from time to time). I respect our time.

It’s equally frustrating for seasonal players as well - as these reset are always the result of system changes that no one wants - the reason behind it is that the devs need to find ways to gte us to play longer and their answer is slow us down, nerf us, take away our loot and things we have earned already in game.

The only people who support these changes are the Blizz shills and the streamers who want to produce new videos.

I’m genuine curious - where’s the fun in playing eternal? You could max your paragon in a month time. What’s afterwards?

  • trying out new builds without lacking crafting materials
  • no desire to start over and over again
  • long-term min/maxing, getting everything to 3-4 ga / triple-crit mw
  • no interest in the usually weak season themes
  • a lack of time to play due to job, family and other hobbies

Lots of organising to do with the characters ive saved up from previous seasons 2-10.
To answer “what is the point of Eternal” for me I have 4 Characters (4 differnt Classes) which have everything maxed out ,paragon, every Glyth to 100 and a lot of nice MW loot from previous seasons too well … test, I like theorycrafting and its easier to do that there than Seasonal.
Time spent is usually 80% Seasonal 20% Eternal, will still have Max characters there so there is that.

Agreed, exactly why Chaos Armor was great. There are so many option for Self Builds. Every Other season was “Consult your local streamer for the broken Meta”.

Then you have people celebrating the purge of Eternal Players as if there is anything good there. When Eternal gets cleansed, the ONLY option is Season. If they support the Duality of Eternal / Seasons then we can have different play styles.

Fun in Eternal:

Imagine having a job and family and only play for about 3 hours a week. There are some Seasons I know I cannot progress so I enjoy Eternal playstyle at a very slow pace.

You should want me to have this, otherwise I will demand that the Season change, and I get “instant gratification” with fast rewards so I can complete everything in the short time I have available.

Not everyone plays hours a day, the problem is most see through that lens. I get that many Gamers do, and they want challenging Seasons with heavy new content. I support that play style for those that want it. However, you need to support the Consistency and slow play style of Eternal if we are to both have the game that we want.

The eternal is the true test of your character; without any glitched seasonal powers, you can see their true damage without any interference. I see the eternal realm as cleaner, far from any broken seasonal additions. Of course, the factors mentioned above are also present!

I’m not having issues with eternal, if that’s what you’re low-key implying. Playing on eternal is just boring to me. Even with 3 hours a week I would have all characters maxed out by now with nothing left to do. But that’s me, others might enjoy different things than I do.

Plus I have a wife, who likes spending time with me, playing Diablo 4 included. It’s the matter of organizing the life they way you want. Although it’d be different if I had kids
