What’s up with it? Can log in but any character I select it gives me this error code.

Hey I can help. Error Code 300023 basically means there was an issue of logging you in on a console.

Do this:

  1. Quit Diablo IV completely

  2. Try restarting your router/modem for a minute or so

  3. Open “Diablo IV” again

If it does not work, it is possible that Diablo IV got corrupted. In this case, uninstall and reinstall the game again and it should work and you will be able to login again.

Adding a couple of things to abd’s steps, since 300023 is usually a stuck session/connection issue rather than a corrupted install:

  1. Full Quit, not just closing the app — On Xbox, press the Guide button, select Diablo IV, go to More options, and hit Quit. Just tapping the app closed (or letting the console go to sleep) doesn’t clear the session, so the error can come right back even after a router restart.

  2. Check server status first — Before doing anything else, take a look at Blizzard’s server status page or @BlizzardCS on X for any active Diablo IV login/service issues — 300023 spikes a lot during server-side hiccups, and no amount of local troubleshooting fixes that.

  3. Wired > Wi-Fi if you can — If you’re on Wi-Fi, try a wired connection temporarily. This error has also correlated with local ISP hiccups (Xfinity users reported this specifically), so a flaky Wi-Fi connection can compound it.

  4. Confirm you’re fully updated — Check for a pending Diablo IV title update on Xbox before reinstalling — a stale patch can sometimes throw this too.

If none of that clears it, reinstalling is a reasonable next step, but I’d try these first since they’re much faster.
