Error Code 1016 - I am about to give up

I have been playing Diablo 4 for several months with no issues. I have not been able to get in for the past 9 days. I keep getting error code 1016 - and I have read a lot about this issue and I have tried just about everything that was suggested in various threads - I am annoyed - I just had 10 days off from school and did not get to play Diablo 4 at all. All of my other games work - it’s just Diablo 4 that is dysfunctional for me. Is anyone else having this problem now? Is there any hope? Thanks.

This is a common problem for everyone and extremely annoying. We know it’s not our connection that is the issue because all of our background programs never miss a beat.

The only documented solution to this I have found is the moment you realize you are going to get the 1016 error just Alt+F4 out of the game and open it again until it lets you in.

Sometimes doing a scan and repair in the launcher and restarting the computer also helps but this issue is just bad coding and it’s not high on their “give a damn” list to fix it.

The OP is on an XBox, and thus can’t do a scan and repair like you would on the PC. This issue seems to be both sporadic and random, making it hard to pin down. It’d be nice if consoles had a built in pathping and traceroute function so end users could at least have a way of checking their connections to find exactly where the hiccup lies. It may not be on their end specifically, but it could be in between and/or within Blizzard’s domain.

Had this same issue on my XBox Series X and resolved it by quitting the game and restarting. I’m back in now.

I have this issue now. Several reboots, logouts and in, modem restart and no joy. Everything else works fine. Very frustrating.
