Thus lowering the load on the GPU.
Makes sense in a way. At full screen apparently, its so laggy it drops the connection.
So now its turned into an issue with the game and the graphic card not operating properly.
Interesting though.
As for suggestions:
Does your system have an integrated GPU enabled?
Have you tried updating or rolling back the gaming GPU drivers?
Check the line

In the LocalPrefs.txt file.
Also check the VSYNC and that its enabled.
You may want to make sure that the FPS for the GPU driver is matched to your monitor refresh.
I have a 32" Curved 1440p monitor here that has a refresh of 165Hz. So I set the desktop to run at 165FPs.
In game, I set the FPS to 100, since I’m running Ultra, but I also have VSync enabled. (which sounds redundant, but if not enabled it behaves worse)
I don’t know what GPU you have, but I run a 3070Ti here.
I also use DLSS on Quality.
But so far, it runs near solid at 100FPS in most conditions.
